Default AP hints at painted front bumper for 992 Touring

I’ve seen many posts regarding the unpainted (plastic) portion of the front bumper being an eyesore for many. On Instagram, AP posts the manual GT3 he’s been driving. Under the post a follower alludes to the desire to have the entire front bumper painted to match the car. AP heavily hints at that being the case for the Touring. Here’s the screenshot.

Yes on the winged and cup cars it looks purposeful and just natural black, hopefully it is easily replaceable and that black shroud a relatively cheap part because it will get chewed up on track (what its there for TBH) and just replace it like the lip when needed. Could see on a touring that will be painted (there was the black mule with glossy black snout), maybe vent the nostrils to wheel well and out rather than through the hood (although still see the nostrils being there, downforce is downforce, touring won't be that unbalanced without wing in back, the popup wing will balance enough)...If they really come out with a Touring with that area painted, rear seat availability if you select sofas, and no nostrils that would be an impressive upgrade to what would still be considered a low run vehicle in terms of numbers. Although by the looks of it on here (biased for sure) the touring take rate will be >50%. I will take the wing and the manual (will wait out the 992 RS first)...that Silver GT3 AP has up on instagram is an elegant piece of kit.

Completely understand the reason(s) for the plastic finish on the higher traffic areas of a track-oriented car. However, Porsche didn't incorporate this in the 991 GT3s and I have to say that the painted front bumper does look better aesthetically. Just an opinion. Happy to see they're considering full painted front for the Touring option. I think it makes more sense

I am hoping that the existing front remains as the standard offering because i prefer it to being painted.

Same here! Saw a rendering by someone before and it looks weird, IMO.

You know I wonder if Porsche doesn't offer a "No Charge" to keep as matt plastic? Much like they did with silver/black window trim on the 991.

Yes. It just doesn't look right to me. I will stick w the matt plastic unless they can paint it matt black.

They may tweak the bumper design to better accommodate a fully painted front. We shall see

The black contrast looks great. More aggressive and proper foe this car. I’ll keep black.

Have to imagine there's going to be a different design for functional reasons that in turn will be more aesthetically pleasing to the GT3 touring owners who prefer a more elegant front found on the rest of the 911 lineup.
