Rant About LWB Seats
#91
Haven't driven my GT3T a lot, but so far the 900 miles in Germany/Switzerland and 400 miles in New York City/Tri-State area have been a blast. The buckets make me grin every time I drive the car and I even enjoy the process of getting in/out of the seats. Guess it helps that I'm a small guy. Bouncing around in crappy roads of NYC is par for the course for me in a GT3 and that's what I expected. And that it can fit a golf club in the front passenger seat is also a massive bonus.

I am driving on the California roadways that you call "crap," and I still find the buckets far superior to the 4-ways. After spending 4 years living and driving in New Orleans, California roads are a motorist's dream. It's all relative.

Ca is a big state. Norcal is not as good as SoCal in my experience, but some areas in East Bay (ie farther East) are new and well maintained vs the immediate bay area where our Mayors and County leaders can't get much right. Go up in the hills in places like Oakland and Napa and prepare for broken fillings...

Geez I hate this necessary evil!
Not comfortable, too upright, uncomfortable getting in and out... all for a few pounds of weight savings that cant even be measured on a circuit. Oh and resale value / desirability.
I'm seriously considering specing my 992 GT3 with 4-Way Sport Seats... you? If not, why do you love LWB Seats?

I had the tilt brackets in my last two 991.2 cars but for some reason in my 992 I don't feel the need for them. I seem to easily be able to find a comfortable seating position.

My last two cars (carrera T and 2019 GT3RS) both had Carbon race seats. No need and I highly recommend against then unless you are tracking the car and I mean seriously tracking the car. My new GT3 has 18 ways seats and there are zero regrets.

Buckets with P1 mem foam and TPC brackets works like a dream. 6.2 / 225lbs / 5,400 miles and loving them

So are those factory option inserts ~$3k the solution? Do they need to be ordered when you do the car config or you can buy them later from suncoast?
just curious if thats a necessary box i must check when i order LWB seats, or can I try first and if I dont like, go order them later for relatively same price?

My GT3 just arrived at the dealer yesterday and I was there checking out my car today. I noticed the LWBS in GT3 has a major difference compared to my traded 718 GT4 LWBS. The side bolster is shorter and easier to get out then the GT4, and I also notice the seat is a bit narrower which holds me(5'7", 160 LB) much better too.
