Default Rant About LWB Seats

Geez I hate this necessary evil!

Not comfortable, too upright, uncomfortable getting in and out... all for a few pounds of weight savings that cant even be measured on a circuit. Oh and resale value / desirability.

I'm seriously considering specing my 992 GT3 with 4-Way Sport Seats... you? If not, why do you love LWB Seats?

On GT cars, LWB should be standard. This is a non-negotiable.

They fit me perfectly (aside from needing to add a little lumbar cushion) and make me feel part of the car - makes cornering much more engaging. And they can be electrically lowered to allow helmet clearance for virtually anyone.

I have 4-ways in my GTS and LWB in my Touring. I agree with what the others have said. The buckets make you feel more connected to the car, enhance the driving experience, look much cooler (to me) than the run-of-the-mill 4 or 18-ways, they are MUCH more comfortable (to me) than the 4-ways and as an added benefit (but of least importance to me) they weigh significantly less than the alternatives. AP himself said that his two must-have options in a GT car are buckets and PCCBs. He too said the buckets connect the driver to the car better than the 4 and 18-ways.

Ha, ha - I have a feeling the 992 and nubbin duo will not go down in history with the likes of Lennon and McCartney, peanut butter and jelly and the like.

P1 design LWB seat inserts with the memory foam make a world of difference.

Agreed, and with TPC Racing recline brackets, to boot, it’s like night and day.

I do not love the LWBs. I think they look great and also a great Value for $5000 but do not get them if you do not find them comfortable.

It is all BS that your GT3 will be worthless w/o them. It really never matters at resale so who cares.

The 4 ways are competent enough

I really like the LWBS. I ordered them in my last two Porsches, they look great and are quite comfortable and will really come into their own should you decide to track your car. However getting in and out can get tiresome especially if you have an injury. If you intend to use your GT3 as a hardcore DD, the 4 ways might be better fit

That said, this idea of a must have option is nonsense.

If you are buying a car to enjoy, spec it the way you want. Anything else is foolish. What is this? sports car high school, with peer pressure to spec a car a certain way. You must be kidding.

Anyone who has earned the money to purchase a car like the GT3 should know better and have the sand to get what he or she likes. As far as resale is concerned, there will always be some people who don’t want LWBS and some people who do.

LWB fix the leg/knee bruise you get from holding yourself upright with a standard seats mid-corner on track. Let's you concentrate on driving. I agree on comfort but feel they are mandatory for track use.

I got 18 ways as I will never track the car and I don’t find LWB type seats comfortable. Mines a touring so I’m gonna tour I’m it! I had similar seats in my MB GT-S and didn’t care for them and the MB seats have more padding and adjustments as well.

Same for me. 18 ways. Getting a Touring. No intention of tracking it. Want something fun to cruise around town. I have other has recite cars so this will be just for fun and touring like you.

OP- buy what you want and don’t worry about resale. They will sell.
