Default Will Seasucker work on GT3 with a Mountain Bike?

Does anyone have experience? Would need to support 25-32lb bikes with spirited driving. If it works, then my dream is complete.

I have a lot of experience hauling bikes on my 911 with a Seasucker. These bike racks are awesome and extremely reliable. Every time I drive my 911, I am doing spirited driving including with the Seasucker and a bike on top. I don't have experience with a heavier mountain bike on top though but I don't think you will have any problem with that extra weight either. I have a Cervello P5X which I use for Ironman triathlons and a Trek Madone 5.2 for training. I made a 1200 mile trip with one of these on top with no issue at 85 mph for a sustained period. The suction cups will lose suction though as the cups heat up throughout the day so you just have to check the indicators for loss of seal for long hauls. Other than that, have fun and don't worry.

Here is a video of a bike on a NASCAR racing around the track using the seasucker rack. It was a carbon fiber lightweight bike though.

Ummm...it should?

FWIW, I keep a bottle of glass cleaner in the car, to make sure the mounting points are clean.

Check with Sea Sucker, or get a test panel wrapped at a shop. If its an issue, you could always go with a Komodo, and mount it on the glass.

Are you planning on putting ppf on the top of your GT3?

I need to inspect my GT4 and see what coverage areas were useful and which I missed. I usually put a 10" band over the front of the roof and the lead edge of the wing.

Yes. You can buy a fork mount which also secures the rear tire of the bike. $119. That's what I have. Tire will still fit in frunk of my 991.2 C4. Not sure about GT3 but I'm sure you could shoe horn it in the back or put in passenger seat too. Here it is:

Yes: this was Friday. (And a regular occurrence — just make sure you have clean attachment surface — I bring a wet rag for post-ride re-attach just to be extra careful).

Why did you do it that way vs. roof and rear glass?

Seasucker says it will not work with PPF or a wrap.

They also cautioned me about mounting to thinner glass because they could not confirm it would be ok under high loads. I expect it would be fine especially for the rear wheel.

I have bunch of seasucker stuff on the way to experiment with on my ~28lb trail bike. Need to figure out what to do with ppf. I'm thinking doing the roof with PPF, but leaving an area in the shape of the mount. I want to protect against an accidental drop of the fork on the roof while mounting. I could always make a foam pad to put up there while mounting/unmounting. Lots to think about!
