ST Are Great, but they Are not a cheaper solution to steels. The initial outlay cost is high at $12k, then refurbishment costs more then replacement new rotors. A great product, but it’s not a cost saver

ST fans talk about refurb. But we never hear from anyone that actually puts their car up in the air and leaves it for weeks without rotors while they ship them back and forth for refurb, and reports back on how the refurbs perform. Not to mention doing that multiple times…

Yes, the brakes are an issue. Mine (steel) were ruined at the front after two trackdays, the first which I only drove hard for the first half, it rained in the afternoon. They sent the rotors to Porsche for inspection, apparently there seems to be a common problem with the brakes on the 992 GT3 I was told...

Really? I was quoted 1200 pound to refurb my rotors on the Pista. That's a hell of a lot less than a full set of Giro or AP discs last I checked.

Been discussed here, GT3 DIY Sound Insulation; https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...nsulation.html
i know some did install rear seats in their 991 Tourings. I haven't gotten my T yet, but I am looking into this. Anybody else thinking about it? With the 991 GT3T, I have been told that all the bracketry was still in place, so seat installation was pretty straight forward. Anoone who have any insight into this on a 992 GT3?

After having previously expressed concern - I can say after 650 miles (under 7k) this car is a beast and seems just as raw (and in fact better in every way note the motor and steering). In fact, it seems louder (drove it on a 300 mile trip this weekend and i could barely hear the bose stereo whereas I def could in my 991.1). Happy I chose this over a 488!

I found that the 991.1 was more raw than the 991.2 which felt oddly refined and soft compared to the .1. The .1 sounded better too IMO. The 3.8 makes a different noise compared to the 4.0.
While the 4.0 and the .2/992 are the better cars in nearly every way, the 991.1 has more character even in the looks department. I'm a big fan of the front bumper.

"raw" is subjective
991 I thought was quite tame.
992 will likely be ever more so.
all depends on what you are accustomed to drive
