Sports Chrono

Sports Chrono
On most previous models, the sports chrono package came with a lot of additional functions. It seems to me, it’s now pretty much simply a clock. I’m waiting on a Touring, and I may be the only person who isn’t specing this option. I’d certainly order it if I were getting a “ wingy “, but I think it breaks up the lines of the dash, and serves very little purpose.Kindly correct me,should I be wrong. Thanks!

I got the wingy as you call it but not the chrono. It adds nothing

992 has left only one analog instrument
this time the Chrono is needed to balance at least some of the too much digitalization

Pay for an analog clock with an inconsistent ticking seconds hand that adds a noticeable reflection in the windscreen? No thanks.

Wow. I’m surprised. Every photo I’ve seen has one. Thank you!!

Just as a data point, 82% of 991.2 GT3 specs had the sports chrono option (it was just a clock/lap timer, as in the 992). I have it in both of my current 991s and I not only use the clock all the time, I like the look and it blends in nicely with the other analog dials on the dash. I agree that it may not work as well in the 992 because having an analog clock in an otherwise digital interior could be seen as some as anachronistic.

I'd rather not get it but it's packaged in with the EM leather that I want.

The chart is great! Thanks. Now I’m confused about headlights! Seems LED is now standard, so I may simply stay with them…

Another wingy and no chrono! Despite having it all my 911's where it was optionable looking forward to no chrono wart! Never like it so was happy to delete it this time!

I believe the track app is standard to all 911s. You don't need sport chrono for it to work.
I think the only other advantage of SC on the 992 GT3 besides a clock and lap timer is the added performance screen in the PCM. I don't know what this looks like in the GT3 but both my other Porsches have that screen which shows and compares lap times and shows a drawing of the track and your progress on that track on the PCM screen.
