I alredy broke the two plastic splitters on the front wheels used to vent the brakes
Hello everyone,
as tittle says, i already broke the two air splitters on the front wheels,
I broke the first one the picking day getting the car into my garage, i was entering it with extreme caution and i heard something exploiding, stopped the car saw some broken parts on the floor and took a picture of the broken plastic splitter on the left wheel
this is how the borken part looks like
i took a picture of the other wheel with the piece intact and certainly there is almost no distance from the plastic piece to the floor.
The entrance to my garage is totally fine, i can enter a Ferrari 458 Italia without issues,
well, so i was totally scared and not understanding how i could have destroyed the splitter and build some wood parts to enter the car on my garage, i used those today and splitter on the other wheel exploded too.
EDIT :
The conclusion so far is that any obstacle driving frontwards will destroy the ducts, ducts flex in vertical position so if you drive backwards to an obstacle you will be fine, but driving frontwards and finding an obstacle like a small crub will not allow the parts to flex and will break
Ducts flexing in vertical axis
This is how the ducts are installed in every 992 gt3
This is the entrance to my garage backwards (i broke the first one going frontwards)
Broken ducts
6,5 cms crub destroyed the ducts

Dang! That sucks.
Do you have FAL? I’m hoping that may help.

i have FAL, those pieces are attached to the wheels, so the distance is the same with any FAL position.
I really think this is not normal and the parts came in the wrong position from factory or from the dealer, check the distance from the wheel to the floor, is much less than the distance from the wheel to the tire, its literally imposible not to break this part this way

Damn, do you have a front car lift?

yes, i do, read the post below please, those pieces are attached to the wheels so even if you put the lift on the top position those parts have a fixed position always
i really need someone with the car to take me some pictures of the part, so i can check the distance from the floor to the piece and know if i had the parts aseembled on the right position, i think this is not normal

Yeah, I think these parts are installed by the dealership. No way that should happen.
Good thing is that it’s an easy fix.
Still sucks.

i hope someone with a car can take me pictures of his actual configuration so i can talk to the dealer knowing if this is normal or not (i think the car cant be driven this way at all)

Drifting
These ducts just direct more airflow to the brake rotors to help cool them during track usage.

Not sure how that is attached to the wheel, axle maybe, hub somehow. I struggle to see how it could hit the ground if it stayed level with the wheel and tire. It would have to also turn with the wheel or else it would get broken. Seems odd to me that it broke just driving into the garage.

BIG thanks for the picture, looking at your picture i think it confirms those parts are installed incorrectly on my car. On your car it looks like the piece is out of the tire diameter, while on mine its more than half out of the tire
i am going to put the car on the elevator in some hours, will get the borken pieces and put those back with tape to measure the distance from the piece to the end of the tire, so i will know for sure if they screwed it the install or not, but i would say they did.
I may have to ask you for another picture if you dont mind, the angle on your picture may be giving a false conclusion but i think mine is definelly wrong cause the piece is installed in a diagonal angle to the wheel on mine while yours its installed perpendicular to the wheel
