Is the Manual Driving Experience Inferior to PDK in the 992 GT3?
Hi All,
I wanted to kindly ask for feedback from those of you that have seat time in a manual vs PDK 992 GT3.
Is it the case that the manual feels more like an afterthought with serious compromises (different tune, inferior components, etc) vs the PDK version? I understand it feels very different to the 9o1.2 gt3 or Speedster.
I was very excited to be ordering a manual but if it feels significantly inferior to the PDK version even for non track use (hard riding on rural roads, etc) then I will go PDK.
Thank you for your feedback.

Manual is fine. I’ve owned both. Short answer is no. The only difference other than the obvious is mechanical vs electronic LSD.

After 1000 miles, I see absolutely nothing "inferior" with the MT. If anything, it feels extra beefy.

No regrets with Manual here. If I had to have PDK, I'd probably sell the car.

As mentioned the mechanical diff vs. electro-mechanical diff is a difference, but one you would only notice on the track. But because the transmissions are so different it makes it even harder to notice the difference in differentials (pun intended!). There is no doubt an electromechanical diff is better with a variable range of locking that you simply can't get with a mechanical diff, that when intelligently controlled provides better stability in braking and traction through corners at the limit. This says nothing for durability, which should favor the mechanical diff due to a simpler design, however past mechanical diffs in the GT3 have not been very durable, nor robust.

If I wanted PDK I would get a Turbo 992. That's just me.

They're both awesome and I want whichever one I don't have at the moment.
