Quality Concerns with the new GT3

but why give up an RS for just a GT3?
keep that RS and get a 992 GTS to play with a manual.

6MT 18 way seats (992) compared to PDK LWB (.2) different feel in the two. I’m not a professional driver, so all the engineering differences, I don’t feel. If I owned both, I’m sure I would drive the RS more.

GTS? I hate turbo charged cars. Also I own a C7 ZR1 manual for that forced induction itch.

All the engineering differences you dont feel? That sounds really bad. Bad that you cant tell the difference, worse that it sounds like you have buyers remorse and you will keep missing the RS.

OK, while I am still having some PCM issues, one thing has changed. The car is officially broken in (yes, I am one of THOSE guys who waits until the mileage has passed) and I have now gotten to properly drive the car. Ironically, most of the little things I mentioned are most noticable when you trundle around town at low RPM. Once you get to really drive the car, these things just melt away. Yes, idle still sounds middling but this car shouts beautifully near redline. It is different than the 991.2 which has a metallic rip that sounded like a chainsaw on metal and scared the sh&t out of passengers. This car has much more of a exhaust note at high RPM, making sounds more reminiscent of earlier GT3/GT3 RS (circa 2011) and giving it almost an Italian roar. I think the exhaust has settled in as well and I hear more happening when I engage the sport exhaust than at the beginning. It is quite nice and the dynamics of the car get better the harder you drive it.
I think the weird 2nd gear hiccup that I occasionally experience is some sort of electronic protective mechanism to keep you from slipping the clutch too much. My best guess at this point. At some point, I will call the dealership to check about any software updates.
