Default GT3s getting ClearGuard Alpha PPF

Finally had time to make these videos of GT3s from November and December. Shark Blue and Racing Yellow.

Full custom ppf wrap......no multi-piece and no relief openings on any of the panels.

Nice video and great work. You highlight the same two areas that my installer said were the most challenging. Curious how you removed and reinstalled those two black grill surrounds in the hood (@2:22 in the video), if you don't mind sharing. I don't have any PPF seams on my hood, but my installer was hesitant to remove those pieces.

Those who dont have a seam on their hood, what film are you using? My installer says with Xpel they have to have a seam.

FWIW, I have ClearGuard Alpha on my TTS and love it. I have had xpel on other cars in the past and I think the gloss of the ClearGuard plus the amazing self healing properties without a heat source make it a winner all around.

Looks great. I would have went with you guys with my incoming Touring but the customer service through email was difficult / dismal at best.

We removed those two pieces on the hood as they are held on by double sided tape.

It is more a matter of them using Xpel's precut template, which has 4 relief openings on the side of the ducts on the hood.

They told me they tried it in one piece on another vehicle and they popped up overtime.

This area indeed is not easy to lay down and takes a certain amount of experience in custom applications to get it right.

Totally agree and that is why we use ClearGuard Alpha exclusively. Much better gloss, glass like reflections, and the self-healing tech. Good you found a Dealer carrying it because the manufacturer, Prestige Film Technologies (www.prestige-films.com) have some very high standards when it comes to companies carrying their product.

I'm not certain how long ClearGuard Alpha has been on the market but does anyone have any experience with how durable it is over time? The self-healing properties seem clearly superior to Xpel and Suntek and the film certainly appears very transparent. Does anyone know how well it holds up to UV exposure and general wear over time?

As much as it’s blasphemy to even suggest this, I was told that ClearGuard Alpha is pretty much the only film you can take through an automated car wash in terms of damaging the finish. This, of course, also assumes the edges are wrapped so they can’t be lifted.

Interested to hear more about ClearGuard Alpha as well. I've had either Suntek or XPEL on all my cars

Having gotten this done by Premier, I can share that this is definitely a superior product than anything else I’ve used out there. On top of the self healing properties, the shine that it provides just makes the color pop!
