Opposite for me. Offered a touring but wanted a winged.

My dealer was around the same proportion as well (3:1, winged to touring).

The fact that in Australia there will be 25 70th edition tourings, skews the ratio here, but will be less non special edition tourings. noting market was circa 18 tourings or there about for the 991.2

It's very easy to de-wing a winged car and Cxx a painted front bumper.

Then, you also get a nice ductail.

And a car w/ unbalanced aero and thus reduced stability. Added benefit is "more driver engagement". Removing the wing is absolutely absurd.

are the suspension settings different on the Touring vs. the winged car?

Not about suspension. It's about aero balance.

A touring isn't the same as a winged car with the wing removed. Any change to the rear aero on the winged car requires a commensurate change to the front aero on the car.

No, this has been addressed I believe. My question is does the R with its lack of a large wing feel unbalanced at high speed compared to a winged 991.2GT3? Or for other reasons is this not a valid comparison?

isn't the front aero the same on a touring and a winged car?

Agreed, the level of wind tunnel testing done on this car is probably beyond comprehension for some. That wing is there for a reason, as is the height and width / shape of it. Removing that wing is crazy, and it amazes me how many people are trying to do it.

I agree but the wing and all the other aero is only really going to make a difference at higher speed. Some guys want the look of the dewinged duck tail and wont be pushing their car so it probably makes sense for them.

thats gonna make a huge difference driving to Starbucks I bet. Ill take my chances and dewinging mine for street and throwing it back on for track. Best of both worlds. Looks way better than the Carrera backend to me. The ducktail is epic.

I would bet that the wing increases downforce and without it the resultant downforce post wing removal is damn close to a Touring.

Most drivers, particularly those driving these cars on regular roads at typical speeds of everyday traffic wouldn't be in "danger". To suggest that it's some life threatening action is just dumb. Let's get real.

It's pretty incredible that for a country that size, there's as many GT3's in total as there are in a decent size suburbs of a city here in USA!!

I had an allocation for a Touring and changed it to a winged car. A fellow rennlister got my allocation. Both of us happy.

Touring looks great. Wing looks great. It’s a personal choice but as you can see from this thread, not everyone wants a Touring.
