From a track day organizer's perspective, Laguna Seca is terrifying now. It used to be 3 strikes allowed per car, now it's 2 strikes (meaning, you go home on the 2nd strike). Worse, the organizer has a limit of 8 cars blowing sound for the day, so if you have loud drivers, they might result in everyone being sent home early, so there's a huge incentive to simply ban those cars altogether. If I was still running track days, I would not permit Porsche GT cars without "laguna pipes" installed before their first lap. It's such a shame that people built homes NEXT TO A RACE TRACK and then started filing noise complaints.

We are all starting to feel the pain of stricter sound enforcement at Laguna. Turn-away tips and gps valve controllers are no longer a sure thing when Laguna sends out mobile sound testers and measures from other parts of the track (the other side of the track too!). The real solution here are products that make your car quieter, at all locations, and from all directions - additional mufflers and/or quieter exhausts.
