2030 GT3!! Get ready folks.
Probably one of the most amazing Porsche videos ever here. First all electric Porsche racer. Future GT3 cup series! Future Boxster/Cayman. Like it or not this is the NEAR future. Porsche will do it best....but will best be good enough!

Well helps that it's AWD and has 1000+ HP! I hope all the GT engineers are not now only focused on their electric GT cars. That does not bode well for a GT2 or even a .2

i guess we all feel somewhat similar. not one moment of what i watched - basically until he brought it on initially - was i excited one bit. the noise was horrible. brutal. the thought that we going to lose the pure mechanical sounds of an ICE and get this shrill whining instead is totally depressing.
i noticed one other thing. did anyone notice almost no driver involvement from Harris?! No corrections, no slides, just turn in and hammer it on exit. I know, AWD, but where was the DRAMA! i know he says it's bloody fast and, if not for that, what positives would we have. it's fast - that's about it.
sad, albeit fast, future, imo.

Same old same old. Every time something new comes out that shifts the normal paradigms people call it an abomination.
Air cooled 911s gave way to water cooling and the masses cried foul — it was the death of the 911.
Or how about everyone sniveling about PDK taking away the spirit of driving? Yep, manuals are fun, but so is vinyl.
Or all the nanny electronic traction controls and active suspensions that turn a rookie into a hero? Hey! Real men don't drive those cars — so I guess real men just get their clocks cleaned on the track.
Not dissing the 356 or early 911s, they have their own charms, but the world keeps moving forward, with or without us. Eventually we get on. How many of us are still roasting our coffee beans on an open pit wood fire or reading by oil lamps? Do you still crank your phone to make a call? Remember carburetors? Oh, yeah, those were the days.

The sound was actually painful, lets hope they can tune/mask it.
And then yes the car was not moving around, where's the fun in that?
Seriously fast but much like manual GT3 v PDK it's all about the feels in the manual. I'll pass, I like the thought of an electric truck instead as my #2 in a two car solution.

I’d say the sports car industry really has its work cut out for itself in the next decade. Generating enthusiasm for new models will be a serious challenge while so many modern, high emotion ICE alternatives will still be available in the secondary market.

Zero interest in electric. Absolutely zero.
