weird noise
120 miles on my GT3 - love it so far (MT, LWB) - I notice two odd noises:
1) 'hissing' noise from brake pedal - when I press the brake pedal, I hear a distinct (for lack of better terms) hissing noise from the break pedal.... it seems an electronic noise coming from the break pedal area and I can replicate it each time I press the brake pedal
2) 'rotating' noise - as if there is a sticker still stuck to one of the front tires - it changes with speed, and particularly noticeable over 50mph... I first thought it could be uneven brake rotors (which I guess can still be) but even after bedding in the steel brakes, I still hear this noise....
Any thoughts?

Unsure on that first one…on the 2nd- anything in the tires? Like a bolt or other object in one of the tires?
what about the E-brake? Have you had that inspected? Also possibly have each wheel removed and re-threaded/attached and inspect each brake rotor.

I think the hissing sound is the brake pads against the cross-hatching on the rotors. It will become quiet after you wear the brake surfaces a bit more.

I have something similar, does it sound like attached movie? Steel brakes. I hear it well while driving next to a concrete wall (noise reflection).
Went to the dealer with it, they inspected it (and even drove with me to hear it) and say all normal.
I do have the impression it's getting better though (+2K km now)

I just picked up my GT3 and noticed both those noises as well. Brakes sound almost like a turbo spool (steel brakes). I hear the "rotating" noise coming from the back.

Noises = GT3
I think noises and especially strange sounds are an inherent part of the GT3 experience. the first time I drove off in my 991.1 GT3 I said my god what is that awful thrashing /mashing /clanking /whirring / banging/crackle/ zoot/...... more noise blips than the captions in a superman comic.
Reminded me of the time the lawn mower blade was not tightened properly.....
Its a damn GT3 that is what the beast does! If you do not hear any aberrant noise now that is time to be concerned.....
Just drive it. don't bother the Porsche service department until its time for the first year maintenance, you will be fine.

If you want to hear noises the 996 Gt3 I had one I think it was a 2003 the engine sounded like a coffee can full of nuts and bolts at idle. I had several other friends that had the same deal with a 996 gt3. I’m actually surprised how quiet the engine is on the 992 considering it’s got a solid valve train no lifters to take up the slack. I haven’t noticed the noises that were talked about earlier in this thread I’ve got about 600 miles on the car. Carl

Hi there, were you able to figure out the cause of this? My car makes the same exact noises. The brake noise began after a 2 day track event. Never paid attention to the ticking prior to the track so am not sure if it was there or not.

I also have the ticking/rotating noise. Had my car the dealer for three weeks. They could hear but could not figure out where it was coming from. I finally said forget it, picked up the car and try not to think about it. If I have the AC and music on, usually don’t hear it. The only time I hear it is coasting at 50 mph or greater. I was annoyed they could not find it but more annoyed they had the car for three weeks, put a couple hundred miles on it and I think added a rock chip on my front ppf. Small chip and did not notice until I got home so could not be 100% sure. Wish I never had them try to fix it though.
