Throttle response delay on 6MT

I really hope so, unfortunately I always assume the worst case scenario to prepare myself. It’s def a bummer, just want the car back fixed up and running and looking the way it did.
will pm you once it’s back so we can try the throttle device

Finally got my car back, minor damage, repaired at a Porsche certified shop, looks perfect and I drove it 70 miles yesterday, felt great. Dr. G, want to ping me about trying the sprint booster?

I have a very early build car, 6MT, 3600 miles on the clock and can report I have experienced this condition as well. I am 100% certain this is a new nanny to save clutch and warranty claims on Porsche's part. It prevents you from slipping the clutch too much. It you do a clean shift and get the clutch out quickly, it usually doesn't happen. In previous GT3's, I would heel/toe and begin turn in which keeps the front weighted, almost with a touch of trail braking. This seems to exacerbate the condition. If I heel toe in a straight line before turn in, it almost never happens. Not a huge deal but just annoying enough because I want to do what I want to do. I don't want Porsche to decide for me. If I want to torch the clutch, I should be able to. This is a far cry from the old 996 GT3 philosophy. No Traction or stability control. Go ahead and kill yourself if you're stupid.
Don't get me wrong. It's still a brilliant car. Throttle response IS instantaneous under all other conditions so this doesn't "ruin" the experience, but it is annoying and I do wish Porsche would fix it. FWIW, I don't think the Sprint booster will help. In fact, might make it worse. The problem is likely that the computer senses too much throttle for the condition and clutch position and electronically cuts fuel to kill the revs. The sprint booster will actually send a signal to the ECU that even more throttle is being applied. Just my basic thought but would love to be proven wrong on that front.

I hope there's some sort of solution in the near future..

That is a spot on description and I think you are right. The ecu is changing the throttle mapping on the fly and it seems to preserve the clutch and mechanicals. Shutting off auto blip isn’t drivable in my opinion, makes it way too inconsistent. It is unfortunate. I remember the 997.2 gt3 having such sublime heel toeing.

Strange, the only time I get any throttle cut is In a fast corner at the limit of grip where the TC cuts it off prevent major oversteer.
Never had anything like what’s being described happen to me.

This is interesting. There is no throttle lag on my 2020 Spyder or my 22 992 GTS. I never use autoblip (hate it) and always h-t on downshifts. There was horrible lag on my BMW, but thankfully none on my two Porsches. Perhaps they updated the software on the 22 992?

It happens on street driving, down shifting to 2nd gear (Turning left or right, slowing down but not stopping) then accelerating.

FWIW, I sent the Sprint Booster to the OP and he should have it today. Hopefully we’ll get a report soon to see if it made any difference at all.

so today it got worse. not just a choking when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, braking and then throttling back up. that did happen again today but it also just completely had ZERO throttle in second and then again downshifting to 1st. Zero throttle. Gotta take it in. Very odd. Only at a little over 3,000 miles.
