You have to heat the film to get it to shrink while it’s on the headlight. It’s not a lot of heat, but hitting it with a heat gun is enough for Porsche to deny it.

On a higher mileage car, it’ll feel similar to sand paper from the uneven texture. But again, just my experience, everyone’s experience may vary.
yes I understand what you meant. I have never experienced that to a point where it’s noticeable to the naked eye. I think I’m about as neurotic as they come,
I would notice it.
so I’ve never felt the need to even bother with PPF. But hey; it’ll probably happen to me 5x before lunch tomorrow now that I said that.

Double-edge sword...DON'T PPF headlights, guarantee pitting and microchips over the years...PPF, and dealer MAY void warranty, which I haven't been given a logical reason that makes any sense...on a hot day here in SoCal, headlight surface will get much warmer, for longer period, than steam during application

With that said, it may be a moot point...we've yet to see any major problems with headlights and not aware of any of our clients having warranty claims denied for headlights

So, pick your poison...for most my clients, we install film as it will further protect the headlight for years to come

On a side note...rather disappointing that 992 headlights have swirls UNDER the lens...we saw it on 991 and 718, but more so on 992

As OCD this thread is, it’s way (more) better than the ADM thread.

It certainly is a risk of pulling up the uv coating on the lights.
