How many of us ran out to our garage and jiggled the horn cover to see if it moved like that?

....and that battery. $2,870!. Ouch! How long is that thing going to last?

Wouldn’t the car run just fine with e regular battery?
I thought it was just a weight saving thing.
Or is a coded thing that the ecu will freak out about?

Well in another battery thread, it seems any car with RAS like the GT cars and my C4S with it as an option, the stepper motors that power the adjustable rear toe link need high current to work properly. Regular battery won’t work and yes the new one has to be coded in. So in three years I guess I’ll get popped for one as I think it’s a six year replacement schedule.

The LFP battery goes into a protection mode when voltage goes too low. All it needs is to briefly see ~14V for the BMS to wake up and put battery voltage back on those posts and take a charge. I wonder how many have been erroneously replaced because that procedure is confusing if this is your first encounter with one.

Probably quite a few. But it’s pretty hard to get a replacement Li battery right now. I don’t have mine on a tender, and I take my 911 out each weekend for some long high speed runs to keep the battery in top shape. My condo garage does not have outlets for that or for EV charging capabilities either.

The car was a write off - what it needed was to be stripped, placed on a celette jig and the front clip removed and replaced. If he did that he could ensure the car was both structurally sound and straight.

Would Porsche sell him the front clip - no, why? because he doesn't have the accreditation, tools, skill sets or know how to replace a clip.

If the car isn't structurally sound and straight its potentially dangerous to very dangerous. I doubt any of this troubles him.

Its called freedom of speech and in this case - its a question of honesty and safety. Mark my words, this guy will on sell this car at some point.

He could make this interesting by working with a Porsche accredited repairer and show how the job should be done - but he won't, why?

You could help him out.............donate some time, parts, knowledge, may be give him some advice.

Have a nice day

That didn’t answer my question.

Well, actually it did.

Well..to add to Groundhog observations.....they didn't even bleed the brakes properly.......

A word comes to mind "kluge"

Chopshop engineering for the unsuspecting!

Entertainment for the uninvolved.

God help the "sucker" that buys this abomination of a repair!

The person who purchases this car is going to be the most informed in the history of used car purchases as everything that’s happened to it is public and seen by millions of people.

Now can we watch The Bachelorette without getting relationship advice?
