I had an order demand for a 992 TTS in at $230k, and the price just went up to $244k, a 6% increase. Given the rate of inflation, I guess that's not unreasonable if it goes from being a 2023 to 2024 MY car.
But $14k price increase isn't negligible, and psychologically I'd rather see the car closer to $225k than $250k, so the price could increase could deter me from buying if the allocation comes at a time when the economy is in the crapper. I would be faced with the choice between taking a loan at a higher interest rate vs using cash which might be better put into investments like stocks or real estate. I suspect that I'm not alone with this kind of thinking, so time will tell how these price increases play out.

I am not sure these price increases are for a '24. I would get that clear from the dealer. Usually we don't see the new car until July/Aug. Seems like few cars had any real changes.

So they increased prices that much within the year for MY 2023 cars? That would be pretty lame. If Porsche can't provide the allocation at the time the customer places the order demand, they shouldn't be raising the price of the allocation because of the delay in providing it. Porsche needs to be careful about pissing off loyal customers and causing them to look at other brands. Crazy demand isn't likely to be there forever.

If you can't buy the car at $250k vs $230k, you shouldn't be buying the car to be honest. Taking out car loans on $250k cars is not ideal.

i am cynical when it comes to expensive purchases. I do not want to feel taken advantage of because I can afford it. Yea maybe 10k+ is a rounding error, I sure as hell would want to make sure I’m getting the delta worth of feature regardless. As much money as we have I think it would be rather silly to normalize not being able to negotiate a good deal and push back.

Just received an email from the GM at my local dealer today about finally getting a GT3 allocation - very excited! I have a call with him tomorrow morning to go over the specifics. However, I just went to the Porsche site today to check the prices and saw that the base is now up to $182K from $169K (as was mentioned a few posts ago). It's a little bitter-sweet, but I am still very excited about getting a new GT3. I'll provide more info after my call with him tomorrow. Thanks.

Canadian GT3 RS price increased by over 20% for 2024. I don’t remember there ever being a single year increase of that magnitude.
