Default Got the call… but no PTS

So I got the call from my dealership for a 992 GT3 build, but PTS is off the table.

Any advice on whether to just take the allocation and spec with a “standard” color? Or pass and wait for a PTS allocation (which, like everything else in life… is not guaranteed).

Any insight or advice would be much appreciated.

PTS seems to be hard to get during the end of a product run. I doubt it will come back before 991.2 gt3 is done

Even when PTS is back open, you’re going to want this in your back pocket to trade in to get that slot.

Also, I can guarantee that after you build this one and take delivery, you’re going to want a second shot at it because you’ll add some options you wish you’d have ordered, and some you don’t want.

When I had my (991.2) GT3 allocation, I asked for a PTS allocation and was told "no." I asked several more times. Same answer. I kept asking. Ultimately, I got lucky, as Porsche opened up some PTS spots right around when my spec was due. I never thought twice about getting the car, even if I had not gotten PTS. I had decided on Carrara White Metallic (because Sapphire Blue Metallic was no longer an option). For me, the car took precedence over the color. In other words, PTS was nice to have, but not a deal-breaker. I just got lucky.

Ask yourself, what is more important to you, the car or the color? If your answer is the car, get it, color be damned. If your answer is the color or "both," then you should let someone else take the allocation, someone who really wants the car and will be content with a non-PTS color.

A GT3 deserves PTS. Any GT3 without PTS is a wasted allocation.

I apologize in advance for my comment, but if your chance of a GT3 ownership is based on the availability of a PTS option, then this car is probably not for you.

i apologize in advance for my comment, but this is a rather unfair position to take. many people love the non-ordinary colors right out of the gate and, as we all know, PTS cars carry a premium down the road. in what way does wanting PTS availability warrant saying "this car is probably not for you"? that's like saying someone who originally ordered a 993 C2S in Speed Yellow wasn't really the type of person who should be driving a 993 WB. if anything, looking back, those people are usually celebrated for thinking outside the box. if i could get PTS on a new order and i really wanted it, i would consider all my options. i'm with the OP on exhausting all options, since he does want it.

Getting an allocation is hard enough - most potential buyers can’t even get one. So, to throw it away because of a color is, IMO, a wasted opportunity.

With the cost increases of PTS, I don't think PTS carries a premium above the option cost. In fact, my perception is that it would trade at a discount relative to the option cost down the line.

At the price you are paying for a GT3 - they should offer PTS on ALL allocations.

If they have PTS on stop, you should be able to hold your car until PTS comes back.

Only the OP can determine how important PTS is the overall GT3 ownership experience.
