For ppf, do you guys go with 10 mil or the 8 mil one? 10 mil is more expensive, I got several quotes most of them around 6500$. How about using 8 mil and reinforcing the hot spots?
For ceramic coating, is there any specific brand that is recommended?
How about the rims, is there any way to protect the paint?

Had it on my 981 GT4 and loved it.
I also had my installer double-up the shark fin piece on the rear quarter panels that take a lot of abuse from rocks ($590)
Did the entire car except for the rear bumper and spoiler. But I did have the rear inner wheel arches done in PPF ($125).
Roughly $9,990.00 total for my PPF. That included paint "correction".
I had my choice of ceramic coatings for the wheels and brake calipers.
Modesta BC-04 or Nanolex Si3d HD ceramic coating. I went with the Nanolex for the wheels ($600) and the calipers ($200). Lasts 4 - 5 years.
The Modesta is ($800/$300) given that it lasts 5-7years.
Hope this helps!

HI - just took delivery of my new Turbo S - it's currently in the Jackson, Wyoming area, but will bring it to San Diego, CA end of summer. I'd prefer to have the PPF installed in Jackson, WY now - any recommendations / experience appreciated! If I cannot find a top-notch shop in Jackson, I'll do it this fall in San Diego - recommendations in So Cal appreciated as well!
thanks in advance for any help in choosing a shop . . .

@Orca911 you could also use Trac Wrap! My whole car is wrapped, ceramic coated, but I also apply Trac Wrap to the front and rockers. Much easier to just pull it off and the rubber marks along with it.

I DID however add just an extra piece on the rockers where they jut out as they get peppered really bad. Your idea on using 8mil on the 'hot spots' is...spot on Lots of great ceramic coating brands out there! You can't really protect the paint on wheels. I just ceramic coat them and the calipers for ease of cleaning.
Hey all, I've been on/off these forums since '20 and pilot a '20 GT4. I'm occasionally found at H2R and COTA. Feel free to PM with any recs on XPEL shops/products etc. I'm an enthusiast First.
Regards,
Chris

Best PPF in Michigan is Michigan Clear Bra. Small crew and OCD perfectionists. They know their stuff. http://www.norockchips.com

Xpel austin did 10mil plus double up, clay bar, ceramic and tint. they do a good job on p cars. Wish I had got my wheels done. We left a strip free on the roof for a sea sucker roof rack.
