It likely is a performance benefit that makes the steering slightly less natural feeling. But I haven’t been able to compare similar cars with and without…

I still cannot believe how AP said 911 GT3 felt like an elephant without RAS when he was trying to sell the technology to back then purists who was upset in 2013-2014. There was an interview of him where he said this. Now suddenly GT3 doesnt need it? He is a salesman first, politician second, and engineer third. We did catch him in the act this time.

It is somewhat ironic that a group of folks have 3+ threads which are nearly identical in content and purpose, to discuss the lack of rationale Porsche must have for producing cars which seemingly overlap content and purpose.

or similar to how the touring was a consolation prize for those who couldn’t get an R, my hope is for a 992.2 RS Touring in the same vein.

Wait, but I thought the GTS was basically a SC?

The plot thickens.

I've had the 911R on track 3 times, 160+ laps, gets driven often and at its limit. The S/T will be my daily and will see the track multiple times a year. Going for 100k miles in a decade. Then my son can have it

No, the T is basically a Sport Classic. The GTS is a mini GT3.

Just had a thought. With Porsche pumping out special models left and right like Nike sneakers, it would be cool if they made a for the people model. Keep it limited but let anyone enter into a lottery. Keep entries open for X amount of weeks. Anyone can submit themselves online between X dates to enter. Buyers are chosen at random. 1 entry per person. Levels the playing field. Gives all of us a random fair shot. And for anyone who doesn’t want the car, they can freely sell it after market into the market. At least profits stays with the people. Instead of a scheming system that keeps letting only the rich of the rich play. Not all limited cool cars have to be release this way, but would be cool to see.

Porsche still sells all the cars it’s wants, there is some good will in brand, you have the potential to bring some diehard new folks into the brand and make them feel special.

Maybe a simple model like a GT3 touring with fixed options to make things even simpler but very drivers focused and enthusiast based.

I wish that were possible, but in the US the NADA and a whole bunch of state franchise agreements do not allow for it.

One of the greatest misconceptions on this forum is that we are Porsche’s customers … we are not, the dealers are their customers.

And those are the two of the root causes of the problem that we in US have with bad actor dealers.
