I don't have an air hammer so was just going to use a chisel and hammer. I think there is likely a one inch space between the OPF and the Cat where the O2 sensors is positioned. Still your point is valid. That stuff looks really hard and dense. I can't imagine that it doesn't have a negative impact on mpg, HP and of course sound. It's like running a marathon with a face mask on.

I finished the driver side. It took about 30 minutes max and I was going slow. No need to remove the O2 sensors. Just unplug them to drop the header down. There is about 3/4 inch air gap between the OPF and the Cat. Just be careful not to chisel hard as you approach the end and break thorough. You don't want to damage the Cat. The depth of the OPF is about 3.75 inches.

I will do a comprehensive DIY post with video when I get a chance to edit. Maybe a week from now.

You don't need to chisel out the OPF material. Check out the second video on post #35

"they removed OPF surroundings to remove the whole OPF in one piece instead of tearing it apart like all youtubers."

@subshooter How did you remove the headers without taking out the O2 sensors?
Did you unplugbit from the other end..? If so, where are they connected?

It's really really easy if you take off the wheel (which I had to do for the spark plugs) and the wheel well liners. They are right behind the liner. I have made some video on how the connectors are removed and the location and a bunch of other stuff. I will post here when I get the time to edit. I'm just an old guy with a cell phone. Not a youtuber.

I just dropped off my car at SP Motorsports for OPF Removal and Soul valved exhaust/Cargraphic Contoller install. I asked the guys to take before and after videos. I'll share when available. I hope to get a better note and more sound with this setup.
