Default First GT3T Road Trip Done!

A month after ownership, we finally found the time to break out of the routine and hit the road, my wife and I ran the car from Chi to Cle-Buff-Tor, and then Tor-Chi back in one rip. It was great and so, so easy. Having the big gas tank made it so we only had to stop once rather than numerous times, which just kind of made the hours go by in a blur. We did the trip on P-Zero Winters, and the comfort and security were both there. I know it goes against the grain but the 18-ways and pdk were very positive contributors our touring experience--and also work well as a Chicago daily spec at that. Looking forward to spring and summer now, and heading down to the Smokies, or out west to see friends.

Just happy to report in general that the car did well, and while we were in Toronto I had the oil changed, and took advantage of that downtime to have the oil neck filler campaign resolved as well. Downtown Toronto Porsche, and Kam in service are good people.
I will say, 100kmh (62mph) speed limits across Canada are a crime in a GT3 (and likely any modern car for that matter).

I guess looking at your destinations you were relatively close to bigger cities. Any concern about tire/wheel repair on the fly? Do you carry a plug kit or have your wife put a torque breaker bar next to her leg? Sounds like a fun trip.

Congrats on the car. Proper way to enjoy it.

I left Canada 9 years ago. So glad I did. Didn't know about this BS.

Thanks! there are still a few random days when I miss the T. You own both the T and the GT3 currently, correct? Having experienced both I know what my dream spec would be--a hybrid of the two.

Yes, though my 3 is a 7.2. I'm in line for an ST and a GT3T but in the meantime I've ordered another T that I plan to build into something perhaps a bit like that hybrid you imagine.

Great trip! Toronto hasn't gotten cold yet so you picked a good time! This week is a bit colder! Maybe I'll do the reverse of your trip sometime
