Recent manufacturing delays?
The final production date on my 3RS (PTS, PCCB) has now moved 3x. From mid December to mid January to now early February thus bumping out my ED date. Anyone else seeing similar delays?

Mine has not moved. It actually moved forward by 30 days fairly early on. Oct order, lock date mid Jan build date mid feb delivery end of March/ early April (was originally end of April).

Yes, huge delays. This will again, limit production, which is a shame. They need to perform backdate upgrades (revised parts) on some production month cars. Unfortunately how this works is that new built cars get the parts, cars that went into scheduled production previously wil be held and updated when the parts are more available.
There are many cars which have been produced, but not “completed”.

My RS was scheduled to start production Dec 1.
It finally entered the Body Shop yesterday, Jan 8.

Im just curious in case it happens to me, how have you handled planning your trip? If you were bumped out that far, was it ever close enough that you had to re-book flights/hotels/etc?

@cosmos No unless you count colored seat belts and deviated stitching. I was told it was sent to ‘custom tailoring’ which is where these bits are added I assume.

@jjw285 I don’t plan on booking travel until it is confirmed complete (V300?). But, my travel is just going to be in and out to ‘accept delivery’, hear the run down of the tech, hopefully tour the factory and then fly back out. Since it’s winter and not conducive to a trip to do it up right, I’m going by myself for a quick trip. All to help my dealer with an allocation.

This is exactly what I did for my GT3 Touring in November. My wife ended up going with me… 2 days in Stuttgart for delivery, factory tour and Porsche Museum, and we also hit the Mercedes museum (which I highly recommend). Then headed to Paris so she could have her half of the trip (and try to buy enough designer purses to equal the GT3)! Quick in and out, but lots of fun.
