in an earlier post, I wrongly predicted that the dealers would be charging 20 to 25 a qt.
just goes to show you what do I know!.
not saying 15 bucks is a deal, but I thought it would be worse?
If it does show up at your local auto parts retailer probably be about 10 or $11?
Basically, what it comes down to is what’s called, perceived ability to pay.
That’s where someone grossly overcharges you because they think you don’t care about money or you’re just stupid.

Well I couldn't care less if its $15 or $11 if I need it. The $4 is not worth my time.

Interesting that they added the food coloring. Makes it much easier to know if they should honor our warranty now

Would be funny if Motul, Liqui-Moly, and Driven started making Green oil for our cars...

Why do you say it’s the best practice? Porsche has always said in the Owner’s Manual that “Engine Oils approved by Porsche can be mixed.”

I guess by that logic, after the first oil change you have to top up with 50/50 mixture of old and new oil and trend towards a greater proportion of new oil after every change (that only replaces half the total oil capacity)

It’s not logic. Porsche says it’s okay, so it’s okay. Nothing to complicate.

For your information —

Mobil1 C40 GT 0W-40 Engine Oil
Mobil1 Part # 127920

I couldn’t find this part number on this thread (I thought I had seen it here in a prior post, maybe I didn’t scan the thread well enough), so I called Mobil1 to obtain it.

=====
=====

Separately, I would like to provide the part number for the new C40 ESP x4 Engine Oil, which replaces the x3 variant. The x4 variant is both A40 and C40 approved (and should not be used on a Porsche GT car with the 9,000 RPM 4.0-liter engine).

Mobil1 C40 ESP x4 Engine Oil
Mobil1 Part # 127918

I got 4 quarts delivered with tax for $41.69
That looks like the ESP X4 oil (for non-GT3 type engines). Did you see the C40 GT oil on their site also?

@GT3 Mike

Thank you for that information!

Could you please post a high resolution photo of the back of the ESP x4 bottle?

It doesn’t appear to be on the site. When typing the Mobil1 part # for C40 x4, the item populates. When typing the Mobil1 part # for C40 GT, there is no result.

I thought it was impossible to drain all the oil from a gt3? Are people mixing the old and new oils?
