You are not the only one getting this shakedown...

I'll wait to see what numbers shake out to be. At the time the $ difference on market value between my 3rs and a 992gt3 was maybe $60k Canadian. If I have to take a 40k hit and buy a 20k watch, correct I'm happier with that scenario than just a 60k hit on the trade in.

Just a shame they didn't do a better job on the watches. The Dakar and ST watches are kind of cool for the speciality vehicles that they are. The GT3 watch is pretty meh... I am a big watch collector but I don't think this will get any wrist time, outside of a car show perhaps. Maybe if they can PTS the dial ring to match my PTS build ..

appreciate everyones input. At least I know I'm not the only one getting this shakedown
I would also ask if you need a minimum spend on options and PPF with them as well. These are potential surprises for you later down the road.

I went to McDonalds the other day and ordered a Big Mac. They said that in order to get a Big Mac, I had to also buy Brussels sprouts which weren't on the menu and not even made by McDonalds. I said, I didn't want to buy Brussels sprouts, I would never eat them and would just throw them away anyway. They said tough, take it or leave it.

So, I went across the street to Wendy's and ordered what I wanted without conditions. I'm never going back to McDonalds again even just to buy a Diet Coke. Everything on McDonald's menu is now turning to crap anyway.

So we can safely assume Porsche is making a HUGE margin on these watches.

The fact you are in Canada and your dealership is willing to get you an allocation is a big deal. I have a few Porsche buddies who are long time owners and still can't get one...Toronto although - super competitive market

A Porsche watch is a cheap ADM, and at least it's something tangible, not just lighting money on fire

I think on numbered cars, it’s cool to get the set of accessories. They will be rare pieces in the future.

Did you order the S/T shoes? You did know about the shoes, right?…

I am into watches and can tell you that these don’t hold their value well at all. Porsche is making a killing on these. If buying for yourself buy what you like and the value is there but not for just reselling you will loose in the long run unlike Rolex, Patek, AP etc….

there’s a reason why dealers get award extra allocations if they sell enough watches, which leads directly to the reason you have to buy the watch

Porsche is a business
they will keep pushing customers to spend more money " watches , increase in prices, looking the other way on dealer behavior " till the customers start pushing back by not buying their stuff. That is the only thing customers can do.
so far the demand is still very high for their product mostly 911, 718 , but not the others
so the good old saying is true: Vote with your wallet
but wallets come in different sizes , so the outcome depends on how many large wallets are out there and no one knows the answer to that

What’s better a $15k watch or $100+ adm.
