GT3 Allocation but I have to buy a watch???!
I searched the forums but couldn't find anything similar on a GT3
Quick story - i had a 991 GT3. Spoke to all my local dealers about getting into a 992 GT3RS. Worked with one dealer who basically said become one of their GT customers by buying another car in the meantime, with the knowledge that when it comes time to trade it back in on the 992 at MSRP, I would take a hit on the trade in value due to the 'equity' I was receiving. Annoying, as I plan on keeping the 992 for a very long time, but I know you've gotta play the game
Traded in my GT3 for a 991 GT3RS. Didn't necessarily want the 991 RS but did what I had to do.
Time's gone by and after having the GT3 and the RS, as well as seeing the 992 RS in person, I decided I preferred the regular GT3. Spoke with my dealer in the winter last year and said I'd prefer to wait for a 992.2 GT3, but would consider the 992.1 if I could still get a PTS allocation. Filled out some paperwork, gave them a couple thousand as a deposit, and waited.
Just heard from them and there's a good chance they can get me a gt3 allocation to be delivered later this year. However... sales guy said ok I'll get back to you on the trade in value, but you also have to buy a watch. I said what watch? He said some personalized gt3 watch to match... to the tune of another $20k (Canadian)
Now if they come back on a reasonable trade in value on my RS I'll consider it, but this just seems like its getting out of hand, especially as the market has been falling. I haven't necessarily kept up on 992 GT3 values, but would assume they are still going for $50k (again, Canadian) over MSRP
Just looking for thoughts and opinions.. I'm already somewhat committed with an RS I don't even want to keep, but don't want to get bent right over either.

^ Sigh..... you're being screwed.
They're just stringing you along. Gotta love the "If you buy a watch now, there is a good chance you'll get a GT3 allocation later this year"
Some of you just need to wake up. It's a great car but I don't see why people put up with that. There are other great cars where you don't need to play those games.
Tell him to take that watch and shove it up his bunghole

Apparently its to do with taking trade in cars at way less than retail ? So they are trying to make up the profit on these high dollar accessories. As far as I know, there's no 'ADM' in Canada - things are sold at MSRP but they still find a way to get theirs.

I guess my question to all - what's current ADM or market value over MSRP on 992 GT3 for those that have bought or dealt with their dealer recently?

Definitely not - I knew I signed up to pay 'ADM' or market price as contingent on getting an allocation. I want my own build with the PTS colour and options I choose, so I have to play the game a bit.

Are they going to require $20k in options on your watch?

Many dealers require upwards of a $50k package tacked on when ordering a GT3...the watch, the PPF/ceramic, the pre-paid maintenance, radar/sonar, built in Jergens machine, Sno-cones, fire extinguishers, and a signed plaque saying "You got reamed!!" by none other than Derek Bell himself!!
As an aside YES, it is out of hand. Customers are getting reamed and let me tell you, I've seen posters on the socials saying they are done w/ Porsche because of it.

Anyone think Porsche should start doing ROFR like Ferrari for their halo cars? Reading all this ADM stuff gives me some kind of unclean feeling. Kind of cheapens the whole Porsche experience.

I have (1) 992 GT3 production slot left to offer before 992.2 as a brokerage service and not as a new car dealer. There are brokerage fees involved

My ST has the watch built right into the MSRP l in Canada.
It’s right in the configurator as standard equipment and I was told it’s non negotiable.
The watch is nice but it’s the not having a choice that isn’t a great feeling.
There’s also the additional 35% tax on it because it’s built in the msrp which is crazy.
Porsche is pushing the watches hard.
Hmmmm Dundon headers and exhaust or watch; which would you take at 9000 rpm?
