First free service. Can I decline recommended recall 'fixes'?
Car is a '23 GT3T (12/22 build) I have received recall notices for software updates pertaining to airbag in sport bucket and rear spoiler deployment. Service advisor said my car also showed oil filler neck recall and Bose base 'update' though I never received notice of these and thought they were mainly an issue in earlier cars. I made sure to ask about the newest oil recommendation. She said they had this newest GT oil but it was in drums not individual quarts. Can you imagine how much a drum of that must cost? So....I take the day off work schedule a loaner vehicle and she just called and said the oil filler neck is delayed/back-ordered. My question is can I decline the Bose 'fix' as I have heard it makes the stereo even less impressive.

Should be possible to decline items like Bose that don’t have safety implications.

What would be the drawback with the Bose recall?

Recalls must be performed otherwise they should issue a liability waiver.
All recalls are related to a potential danger to human health and/or life.
A workshop campaign is not safety relevant but could affect warranty coverage.
Depends how professional the dealer works and if they are aware of the liability consequences.

I recently brought my 2023, week 8 production, in for its 1st service and was informed of 3 current campaigns. One for replacement of the oil filler neck, one for inspection of the vehicle’s glass to determine if replacement is needed and one to update the Bose System to prevent possible speaker damage.
I declined the Bose update for the reasons mentioned, the glass inspection was postponed either until the oil filler neck becomes available or my next service. In the end, it was a simply an oil service compliments of Porsche AG. Unless Federally mandated or a safety issue, most service campaigns can be declined if not wanted. That said, generally speaking it’s usually a good idea to let your dealer complete them.

Oil filler neck and glass is a recall as its safety related.
Oil filler neck - fire hazard
Glass - body structural strength and passenger airbag deployment related
But yes it can be postponed until a certain part becomes available.

I had it done and can’t tell what it did. What eq options did it remove?
nick at Musicar said it turned down the power slightly to the subwoofer as the Bose system was blowing speakers. I have the Musicar upgrade and I didn’t notice anything. The Musicar upgrade is night and day difference from the stock Bose system.

Update. Service completed. 4 service campaign as noted above plus inspection of the glass which fortunately did not require replacement. Oil filler neck came in just in time to replace it. Looked like they sprayed something to check the glass which was a little annoying to have to get off the paint with a detailer. Now I just have to find a quart of the new ESP oil to keep around.
