Lost PTS S/T
I’ve been waiting on a PTS slot for years on my past GT cars with no luck. I acquired a PTS eligible S/T allocation & recently listed my GT3 a few months back. After receiving two delays so far pushing my build back, I pulled the listing so I can sell closer to the S/T build date.
Fast forward to this week. I was told my build was delayed again & that my allocation is outside the PTS window.
Now I am actually considering passing on the car & keeping my 23 Touring. I’m paying a lofty ADM & I was told it was a privilege to have a PTS slot.
I’m just having trouble shaking the loss of PTS. Especially when I acquired my non-PTS 23 Touring at list (w/ $10k matching watch) & I enjoy it.
Has anyone else lost PTS on their S/T after several delays on their build? TIA

I wonder why your production slot kept getting pushed back. Standard color vs PTS, I would be going back to this dealer and re negotiating that ADM or walking.
Personally, I would spec that bad boy in A1 Black with the heritage interior and call it a day..

If I were paying a lofty ATM and couldn’t get the car I want why get it? Especially if I already had a touring.

If PTS is out and one doesn't like metallic colors, the choices are anorexic thin: White, Black and Ruby Star Neo. Ok, White and Black.

I lost my PTS as well - delayed allocation from March to July to wait for it. However, I still feel good about getting an S/T. I myself let go of what I thought was a never let go car - 2018 GT3 Touring... I wound up using that to get a JDM NSX-R. I have no regrets because I know I can get another touring but getting an NSX-R, well there's only 10 in the country.
I've bought enough cars in my life, where I know that while the color and stuff is important, deep down the specialness of how the car drives and how stirs you really is what creates the bond. This car is special, and some may not see why but that's everyone's own opinion which is fair. If it's not special for you, and you are sure you won't have regrets afterwards... let it go. I would also weigh in how hard it will be to get your touring in the future vs an S/T. For example, if you let your touring go and get your S/T... I'm pretty sure you can sell your S/T at a significant value and get another touring. However, keeping a touring and then trying to get an S/T, say a year from now. That may be difficult.
In the end, I completely get the pain of losing PTS. I've bought 6 Porshes some with PTS and get surprised to hear non-Porsche owners getting PTS S/Ts but I don't. I still love the S/T and can't wait to drive it.

I’m sorry to hear this. Also, you probably don’t want to hear this, but when S/T allocations were assigned, dealers knew which ones were going to be PTS and which ones where not. Sounds like your dealer and not Porsche is to blame.
Now, with that being said I would fight like hell to have a reduced ADM based on your understanding of a PTS slot. Also, depending upon your financial circumstances, the ST is stil a hell of car and you will be thrilled and amazed at how different it is compared to your touring.
Hang in there, many people in the same boat.

So are people being mislead here? I also don’t recall seeing “you must be a porsche owner to get PTS” on the sales form.

I’d be happy with Shore Blue or Shade Green…

The restrictions on PTS are misunderstood in my eyes. The reduction of actual colors from the base/ step up color offerings is somewhat disheartening.
This palet is relatively unpalatable....

I know, shore blue and shade green also require Heritage. Which is also running low and only ST can get them currently. The color reference is mainly directed towards the 911 line as a whole.
Keep in mind 718s aren't having nearly the struggle getting PTS.
