The changes look great. Subtle improvements as always, but will bring a noticeable improvement.

More wheel options would be rad, as long as they're backwards compatible with the .1

Perhaps the variety of wings and wheels seen recently does mean there will be WP available for the .2 GT3

I expect the .2 to have a little more downforce, a little more power, suspension better on both road and track with the ***** for damper adjustment (this will have memory function), and faster lap time. No hybrid and no turbos. Manual still available. It will be a better car than .1 in the eyes and minds of almost everyone. Price increase will reflect inflation, nothing more.

I'll take that bet.
There's a big increase in MSRP coming.

I expect a max of 8% price increase.
Few weeks ago I read on a UK forum that almost 500 new 911 are listed in the UK. Also European dealers are full of 911 including Turbo S and GT3.
I suppose many of these cars have been configured by the dealers to reach big numbers and a small amount are relative to people rethinking the purchase due to high interest rates.
In the US the situation may be different but considering how bad the things are going in China, they're reached a point where the price increase generates an over-proportionate decrease in volumes.
50k 911s delivered in the 2023 is already a big milestone.

I doubt that.

Depending on how you define "inflation" using either PPI or CPI, the .2 price increase will certainly be more than 2.1% (PPI for rolling 12 months) or 3.5% (for CPI).

In the US the situation may be different.
Given that there has been a $10.9 Trillion increase in household net-worth here in the United States primarily driven by the rally to new All-Time highs in the stock market,
I would strongly suggest that the situation in the U.S. is dramatically different than the EU or China.

Never mind that tech employees here in Silicon Valley have seen their stock-option
grants go dramatically in-the-money since late last year. That can create for a lot of demand.

I wonder if Porsche knew what the 992.2 GT3 would be when they were developing the 992.1 GT3, and intentionally made the .1 "less" than the .2 so that they could leave some things for the .2 and not step on the toes of the 992.1 3RS too much.

absolutely
these things are developed on a 7 year cycle with tweaks for unforeseen issues like 991.1 GT3 engine issue
but major milestones are usually baked in

The other thing is that I think Porsche is trying to get us progressively used to bigger and more refined cars. There was significant outcry when they went from 997 to 991, and the outcry would have probably been much more extreme if they had gone straight from 997 to 992. I currently have one 997, two 991, and two 992 cars, and still have not fully accepted the 992 cars. For now, I feel like 991 is the peak for me - much higher performance than 997, feel smaller and rawer and simpler than 992.
