992 TTS 1st to 2nd manual upshift fail
Hi, I have less than 1k miles on my 992 TTS and half a dozen times on different drives, while in manual, and leaving from a stop the paddle pull from 1st to 2nd doesn't shift out of 1st....2nd pull worked all but once where I had to pull the paddle 2 more time...I've had lots of PDK cars and never experienced this.....it never happens for any other upshift, only 1st to 2nd...and never happens on any downshift. Anyone run into this? And yes the dealer is checking service bulletins/etc.

Hope it is addressed with the PDK update as I took delivery in December.

Maybe your RPMs are too low?

That is very surprising. I had two GT-R’s in the past, including the very first model, both with what at the time was the first real production DCT, and they worked flawlessly in manual all the time. This will be my first Porsche, so it is disappointing to hear this is less reliable.

Happened to me as well...was just in for service (3 week’s) (spoiler error issue) and had reported that I had PDK miss shifts (happened 2 or 3 times) from 1st to 2nd — after 2 or 3 attempts to engage 2nd gear, then lifting off the throttle slightly to allow the rpms to drop, 2nd gear would engage (I can’t say that when the rpm’s dropped is what allowed it to shift, only that when they did drop, 2nd gear engaged)— service dept only checked to see if any PDK error message was recorded, and found that there wasn’t, so no action could be taken
My car was delivered December 22, 2020 and had a PDK update done during the Predelivery Inspection
If it happens even once, the best thing to happen is to report it either when the car goes in for service or simoly call in and have the service manager record it on your file at the same time they would typically check with the Factory Technical Dept

Has this been fixed for anyone? I’m experiencing the same problem with my TTS.
I made a short video to illustrate it:
Service says there are no outstanding updates for my car.

i still get an occasional missed shift to 2nd, definitely not frequent, but it is there - i'm always in Manual Mode - 6000+ miles now....i'd say it has happened less then 6 times (probably 4 but i'm not counting) - it recovers fast enough, and it is noted at my dealer since the first occurrence (although im not sure that even means anything)
