Turbo S Spoiler(s) Deployment Mystery
Ok this is a fun one. When I bought the car, a 2022 992 Turbo S, April 26th, the spoilers front and back would deploy two ways. When I put the car in sport plus (at a dead stop or moving) and manually from the touchscreen in any drive mode at a dead stop or moving. Now starting today they will only deploy in sport plus while the car is moving and no longer from a dead stop. The touchscreen manual deployment has not changed and still works the same as it always did. The spoilers still do detract when I take it out of sports plus mode putting it back into normal mode weather moving or at a dead stop. That’s how it was before also and hasn’t changed. The only change is if I at a dead stop and put it into sports plus the spoilers will not deploy until I start moving. For the first minute I thought maybe it was because I did the Tune last week with M Engineering but I remember spoilers were acting normal as before right after the Tune when I was test driving it with Charles. Plus how could a tune even affect that part of the car? It couldn’t. I also had the wheels painted gloss black this week so they were removed for a spell and then put back on. Check out the new pictures below. However that couldn’t affect it either. The only thing I can think of is some sort of update from Porsche changed the functionality. Either that or there’s a setting in the touchscreen we changed and I’m on aware of it. However the young kid “expert” at my Porsche dealership says there was no such setting to change the functionality of the spoiler deployment. I’d love to hear some opinions on this. Thanks.

How does everyone else’s spoilers function on their 992 turbo s?

When you put the car in Sport Plus at a full stop, the spoilers will only deploy when you’re going about 5 MPH.
If you put the car in Sport Plus while driving, the spoilers will deploy immediately.
If you put the car in Normal mode, from Sport plus, while at a full stop - the spoilers will not retract until the car is moving.
Manual mode through the PCM works whenever.

Do these settings apply to all models or just the Turbos?

Another another spoiler issue, I’ve noticed mine squeaks a bit in the lowest position as if the wing mounts are flexing slightly over bumps etc. it’s silent once raised to any extent.
anyone else have this?

No. Thats weird. Can you move it by hand in the lower position?

it feels pretty rigid both raised and lowered if I try to push it by hand. I’m only assuming it’s the spoiler because it’s silent when the spoiler is raised and reliably squeaks a little when lowered. It’s not a big deal; I’ll ask Porsche next time it’s in for a service.

"When I bought the car in Maryland and had to drive it back to Tampa I went through a thunderstorm and the car put itself in wet mode. I didn’t notice if the spoiler went up I was just very impressed that it went into wet mode on its own. Very cool. I’ll check the spoiler action out by putting it in wet mode manually on my drive today."
Haha let me guess you got the car at Porsche Silver Spring and you were the guy from Florida coming to pick yours the day up after mine.
