Default 992 Turbo S Deposit

I got an allocation for a 992 Turbo S, October build, offered to me at MSRP. The dealership wants a non-refundable ~28k deposit through (10%). That seems really steep for a car that they could probably sell for more than MSRP very quickly. I'd be ordering PTS Carbon Steel Grey Metalic. Black interior. 18 way seats. Nothing crazy that would make it hard to sell. Does the deposit seem fair/normal for this type of order?

If you're doing a ketchup and mustard spec, I'm surprised the deposit isn't more.

But all PTS slots for 2024 models are already gone I believe.

Deposit policy varies wildly between dealers and jurisdictions and also your history with this dealership. This is bit on the steep side for NorCal, but you’re not in Cali.

it’s awkward but if you really want the car yolo. There aren’t a lot of allocations running around.

Ketchup and mustard spec? It's grey with a black interior? Ahh, I didn't confirm it was a PTS order or not, I didn't know there was a difference...

That car might not sell easily for MSRP because it is close enough to Black and Agate that buyers may not be willing to pay the PTS cost; the fact that the dealer offered you the allocation at MSRP vs just taking in an inventory car should tell you something about their belief on if they can get over MSRP.

I'm actually in Nevada now. Need to update my profile. I'm used to paying between 3-5% for deposits on cars that are much less in demand.

Have heard many consistently stating the PTS is sold out for the year and not available.

If its your first “new purchase” from this dealer, pretty standard.

I live in the northeast. In July I received an allocation for a 2024 Cabriolet 4S and placed an order at MSRP (I live 15 miles from the dealership and will use them for service). Waited two years…….When I customized the car (picked colors and options) and received a Build Sheet showing V200 status dealer requested and I paid a 10% deposit. It is an October build with a November delivery. Non PTS but many other options.

10% deposit required in Atlanta on an Oct/Nov GTS build. Was communicated way upfront when I joined the allocation list, so no surprises and would be paying anyway. Fine by me.

10%? Could you put it on a credit card? That'd be awesome. Points and/or cash back.

If this is Gaudin, then the 10% down/non-refundable is their standard for an ordered car. I got my allocation with them last November and received the car in early May. They seemed very professional and straightforward throughout the process - you won't have any issues with them.
