Default Which Hi Flow Cats don’t throw a CEL?

Just as the title suggests. I really don’t want to have to flash the ECU to add a hi flow cat. What manufactures are offering their 200 sports cats that claim no tune is needed?

This will be on a 2023 Turbo S.

I think the reality is that even high quality 200 CEL HJS cats will throw an occasional code.

Soul claims their new cats won’t throw a CEL. Seems to be the best risk free option besides labor.

I’m looking for a set for my ‘23 Turbo S Cab and spoke to Soul last week asking this very question.

They told me that they had solved the CEL issue until about a year ago when Porsche seemed to tighten up the specs and started causing 2022+ Porsches to throw CEL’s with their 200 cell cats. The sales guy told me that they are close to having a new version out with some sort of diagram-based fix to stop the CEL. When I asked about the timing of rolling it out, he told me it should be “within 2 months” so it may be worth reaching out to them in the New Year for an update for our cars…. I know that I will be following up as I want to add a little more grunt and a deeper exhaust note on my PSE

Fabspeed use HJS cats, they have the best chance of not triggering the check engine light

We have had good feedback on the Soul, even the ones that have got a CEL way back when, Soul helped resolve the issue.

Let us know if you're interested, we can do some end of year holiday pricing.

Hello,
I have a 23’ 992tts cabriolet. I just had the cars ecu and tcu/pdk tuned by M engineering, FabSpeed 200 cell sport cats with the gt2rs style outlets with a rear muffler delete, APR CF cold air intake and CSF intercooler.

I did not get any Check Engine Lights with this setup. Here is a link to the product.

You should be aware even when vendor tells you no CEL don't be surprised if you get one. Sometimes CEL does not come up for few weeks maybe even 2 months + after install like mine. CELs are usually random too. At the very minimum get yourself a scanner to clear the CEL since they are inexpensive. Saves you taking the car to dealer to clear CEL only for it to come back later. Like you, i thought i could get away with cats and no tune but eventually tune was necessary. In fact, the dealer told me to tune out the CEL since they had seen/installed enough cats on other TT/TTS to know CEL eventually comes up.

Saying this so you don't go purchase cats and if you get the CEL post here blasting said vendor

I’d potentially be interested as well as I’ve been waiting to hear confirmation from Soul about the latest fix for the CEL issue on the 200 cell cats ….. What kind of pricing would you be offering for a year-end deal?

I have the Fabspeed 200 cell cats with an Akrapovic cat back, and have never thrown a code.

I don’t know the year of your car, but the issue is generally with 2022+. The 2021s don’t have an issue.
