PPF on Lights
I get my TTS next month and am getting PPF and ceramic coat setup.
i opened for the upgraded matrix lights. I remember in the past hearing not to PPF them for some reason….however a cracked lense would really suck too.
What are your thoughts?

I believe some dealers say it voids light's warranty but my dealer is fine with it, as they applied it 
Seeing the amount of small sand/road rash on them at night it was 100% worth it. I believe you have to be careful when removing it(for example use steam gun) but that's about it.

I have used one of the top PPF installers in Arizona on all my cars. The shape of the Matrix lights causes problems, it's not a flat surface. We tried to cover them and just couldn't make it look good. Best of luck maybe you can do better.

According to my installer, Porsche recommends not applying PPF to the matrix lens since the removal of the PPF will damage the coating.

Plenty of videos online how detailing studios safely remove PPF from 992's lights. If you just rip it off, sure, but if enough heat is applied no damage will be done. I personally replace PPF on lights after 2 years as PPF gets harder to remove with time, and the cost is very low.

I have been having it put on for over 20 years, never a headlight issue. My wrap guy is a 992 tts owner, he showed me a vidro he did on his car with wrapping one headlight and then going out for a drive, never saw a difference so I have been having all the 992's done

If headlights aren’t covered, they’ll chip easily and over time, will get peppered up
we highly recommend applying film as it’ll protect the headlight; just make sure to find an installer that’s experienced specifically on 992 headlights…they’re challenging, but definitely doable
