I am hoping they built mine, waited for the chip, installed the chip, and then deemed it “complete.” (That is what I am hoping anyway)
It’s currently on the Amethyst Ace.

I had the same question re which black wheel would look best on my red/black build. My dealership had vehicles in their huge off-site storage yard with all 3 types of black wheels - satin, gloss and jet.
satin black = matte black
high gloss black = deep shiny black
jet black = metallic shiny black (looks slightly lighter than gloss black per miglio)
I went with high gloss black to match some of the other trim on my car (e.g. PORSCHE logo in high gloss black etc)

Placing an order for a new 992
Hi all,
New to the forums and excited to be talking all things Porsche with y'all. I have never owned one before but am seriously considering getting a 911 Carrera S for a fun weekend car (won't be used as DD, luckily work isn't too far from home . As such, I would welcome the forums opinion on building one from scratch (I can get an allocation and have it built/delivered within 6-7mo timeframe thanks to a friend) or I would consider buying CPO (2020 or newer). Obviously building from ground up would cost more and take more time but would allow me to get exactly what I want (I don't mind waiting and can buy the car outright today). CPO would let me get the car sooner (don't really care when) and save me some bucks but they still appear to be really pricey even if more than 3 years old and have more than 15k miles. I'd only consider CPO if I could get a really good discount from purchase price, not $10k-$15k off.
What are the forums thoughts on this one. Is the market still changing and could prices go down for CPOs in the near future? Is Porsche raising prices soon for new cars? What would you go for?
Here's the config I was looking at if I went all-in on the new car: https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PRPB9UV9. Any must-needs I am missing or things you'd forgo?
Thanks all in advance and looking forward to joining the Porsche community!

Strangely that doesn’t work for me. My suspicion is that it’s because TYD hasn’t updated my status code yet. It’s still V300 when I inspect the web page and as a result there isn’t even a ship listed in the API response even though I got my email/push notification that my car was shipped a week ago. But given I got my email just a few hours after Amethyst Ace left port I’m pretty certain it’s on that ship
not working for me too.. I think the code changed. the tag I stopped show ship at sea, I doing think the latest TYD does that any more. just says left port.. and shows location of the port. I dont think it's specific to you , even mine is missing.
I just received my tyd notification saying my car has left port, but the last boat coming to the east coast left a week ago. Are they taking this long to update tyd or did a new ship leave today for the east coast?
My SA said my car is on Lake Taupo. I got the notification that my car left the port today and texted him. He sent me this link:

I'm in Texas, by the way.

It was Houston but now Volkswagen group has recently switched to Freeport, TX. My TYD says Houston but it should be going to Freeport based on when that port was opened. What I'm confused about is that's where I thought it was supposed to go after Jacksonville but when I'm tracking the SFL Composer online, it's saying Tuxpan, Mexico. Anyone else ever see that as a stop?

I take back what I mentioned earlier. Someone confirmed with their SA in the West Coast thread that their car is on the King Quest heading to SD. So it's safe to assume that all of us who received an email this morning is on the King Quest. I will reach out to my SA in the morning to confirm on my end.
All Colorado cars go to Freeport, TX then ship by train to Colorado. My 2024 C2S is on the Amethyst Ace or possibly Siem Cicero as my TYD said that it was leaving Port Emdenmwhen both were in port. They are only 2 days apart so I guess it doesn't matter which ship I'm on.
My 911 was offloaded from the SFL Composer in Baltimore on 3/17. My dealer in the Chicago area scheduled for me to pick-up on 3/22 -- I can't wait.
The car finished its build on 2/11, so it would seem like the car was lucky to have received the correct chip in Germany. (This might support Ricky Bobby's post #19534 that cars assembled after 2/5 were built with the new chip.)
