I have the Porsche battery charger that went into my cigarette lighter on my 2013 911 S Cab. I have a new 2020 911 4S Cab but no cigarette lighter. Dealer didn’t know whether there was a 12V connection in the car... does anyone know? Thank you!
If your 992 has a RAS or if you live in Canada, you will have a Lithium battery instead of a lead acid battery. Be sure that you use a Lithium compatible trickle charger.
I am using a CTEK trickle charger. I have it plugged into the 12v cigarette charger in the passenger wheel well. It stops charging after a short amount of time after the car is turned off. I tried plugging it with the ignition running as that seems to have been suggested elsewhere but that did not work. The door is locked as well.
Procedure to keep 12v internal socket active: Connect your charger to the 12v socket - Car ignition off, Charger NOT plugged into the wall.
Charger connected to the 12v socket - Car ignition on, plug in (turn on) charger.
Check lights on charger are moving through steps 1/2/3 etc
Turn ignition off - Charger lights should still be lit. Lock car.
You are good to go and the 12v socket should now stay live.
Many threads on this subject, but I believe if the power goes out the car will deactivate the outlet since there is no charging input. Also believe that outlet can be coded "on" by PIWIS.

While having the AL Priority laser installed yesterday, I had the installer move my MagCode charger to the front .... now I can connect the car, without opening the frunk, and charge it 24x7 using the CTEK Lithium charger.
There are just too many reports that the inside foot well port, stops offering charging for unknown reasons.
It is much more reliable to connect your trickle charger directly to the battery, and having a quick connect under the
frunk bonnett. For long term charging, you will have no issues, other than a power failure, in maintaining your
delicate and tempermental Lithium Battery. Permanently wired harness

That is exactly right, plus you relieve yourself (or the car) from the Porsche Charge-o-Mat, which is a rebranded, limited-use CTEK charger.
I initially had the same hardwire as you did, except, I recently purchased a magcode connector that connects to the CTEK, and offers a female version which I had mounted on the outside... this way I dont need to open the frunk to connect it to the hardwired port.
