How’s your buckle hanging?
Hey All,
just wondering if you could check your seatbelts while in the retracted position. Does your buckle face outward ( like mine here in the photo) towards the door or does it face inward towards a person while seated?
cheers,
bernie

I was driving mine this weekend, and heard a rattle - was like oh crap I have a rattle, and a bad one at that.
It was exactly this - the buckle was slightly vibrating against the pillar - I moved it up and no problem. But mine faces the same way as your pic, which is likely not the best design really...

Following.
991.2 owner here, so forgive me for being in the wrong forum, but:
I have the same question on my car. The buckle, when I bought my car last June as a CPO, seemed to be opposite to what I would normally expect, i.e. the entirety of the seat belt did not lay "flat" when draped across me/passenger when clicked into the retainer. It just seemed "off". So I undid the 18mm bolt at the bottom on both sides and removed, then replaced the bottom belt bracket 180 from what it was. Now my belts lay flat and appear like every other car I've ever had.
I'm curious what you guys find on the 992.
Oh, and plus one on pushing the passenger side retainer clip up as far as it will go to eliminate that weird rattle you get otherwise. I had exactly the same problem in my 981S; guess it must be a Porsche thing lol.

Since I have deviated seat belts, and like to see the color, plus- I'm usually driving alone +95% of the time, my passenger seat belt is buckled-up. The rear seat belts are buckled-up +99.5%

Liking the repartee guys, but I may not have been clear enough in my question....
I feel that the metal part of the buckle is in resting position facing the wrong way! ( On both passenger seat and driver they are facing out towards the door.)
When someone gets in and buckles it across their lap there seems to be a weird twist to accomplish this ( and a twist in the actual belt when buckled) compared to every other car/truck I have ever owned.
I was thinking that someone installed the buckle the wrong way on my vehicle but perhaps every 992 comes like that from factory?
cheers,
Bernie

Bernie,
I'm with you on this . I always found it odd , but after couple days forgot about it . My wife put belt on wrong 1st time because of it. My other car and last two cars ( nor Porsche) are definitely other way...belt hangs flat from floor to top...and buckle out . Its like they are installed with a half twist .
I'd bet there is a detailed German study on the semantics of it !
