Do you have a front license plate?
I just picked up my plates and found out from the dealer they actually drill holes in the bumper to install the front plate. Has anyone done this? Can you post pics. Is there an alternative mounting procedure?
Thanks

Tow hook mounts seem to be popular. If you Google, you will find a few 992 compatible options.
That being said, you could just roll without a front plate altogether. Nice, expensive cars tend to get a pass on the requirement in many states. California and Texas come to mind.

The only time I've ever been pulled over for not having a front plate on was by the airport police. They just gave me a warning.
I could imagine the Parking Authority in some cities might give you a ticket for parking on the street without a front plate on your car. I don't know if this is true, but I heard once that you won't get a ticket if you place your front license plate on the dashboard up against the front window when parked. It would technically qualify as a front-facing license plate.

While it's technically required in California and I have occasionally (3 or 4 times per year?) received $25 parking fines when street parked, as detasinn indicated above, high-end cars seem to get a pass on having a front plate here. Have been pulled over for or received a non-parking-ticket fine zero times in six years between an M3, M4, and 992.

You'll get a ticket some places in California if you reverse into a park and the enforcement cameras on their drive-by carts can't see a plate. Having said that many cars go without and police don't seem to care.

I wouldn’t bother putting one on unless you are doing some epic road trip. In that situation just grab a tow hook mount.

I hate front plates on a sports car and pretty much have avoided them over 40 years. Only exception I think was a 92 Vette that had a pre-imprinted plastic space on the front bumper, almost looked better with the plate. I have never had a ticket for avoiding them, just keep the extra plate in the trunk with the aim of begging for forgiveness if ever pulled over. On my new 992 for sure no plate even though ID does require them. Here are the front-plate free states
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico. North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia

That said, I’ve never ever been hassled about it in CA despite being a requirement

in CA it’s correctable. A $25 fix it unless you **** the cop off. With a magnetic bracket you can get it verified and then just remove it again

I just bought a pre-owned 992. The first owner had installed the front plate when she took delivery in February. Not what I would have chosen but it wasn't enough for me to back away from an otherwise near-perfect car.
