992 PCM and moving to different regions
Hi Team
I'm looking to buy a 992 and also likely will be moving between regions and taking my 992 with me.
Are there any issues with the PCM doing that? Can it be configured easily for different regions?
Cheers!

Apart from the maps I’m struggling to think of anything that can’t be changed via settings. I mean all the units are configurable, that part’s easy enough. Are there export limits on NZ delivered cars?

It will be a UK car exported to NZ. Unsure if there is a solution for updating the maps?

So, according to this, there shouldn't be any need to go to the dealer. You just start driving in NZ, and the maps will update themselves at some point. Of course, I am not 100 % certain about this, since the distance is so big but this is how the maps have been designed to work in theory and how it also has worked for me in practice between Northern and Southern Europe, for instance.
I can also see from my car's map versions listing (in PCM) that it has some version of maps all around the world as a default.

Re. the maps sorry but I'm not sure; here in the US they're loaded from factory of course and are updated over the air. I'd assume you'd need to pay a Porsche dealer in NZ to load them when you get the car there. Sorry can't help more with that - don't you wish for the old days when you could just buy the maps on a DVD.
