Default PSE w/ Soul Cats or Akrapovic w/ stock cats

Hi,
Getting a C2S w/ PSE soon and need some guidance.
Which sounds better?
1. Soul cats with PSE.
2. AkrapovIc exhaust with stock cats.

Thanks!

Our Sport Catalytic Converters will add more response and turbo sound than a rear exhaust - the rear exhaust would add more exhaust volume to the exhaust note. We also suggest doing BMC air filters as they are a very cost effective way to add a hint of turbo / intake sound.

The Soul PP cats with the stock PSE exhaust will probably be a bigger difference than the Akrapovic axle back. But doing both, or the Soul cat with soul exhaust will be the best.

We have the Akrapovic axle back in stock, the Soul products we can get ordered up for you.

Has anyone had experiences with the Soul PP cats with an Akra exhaust?

Flat 6 Motorsport did a great comprehensive review of the differing exhausts available, look for the thread.

... but, remember that unless you change the behavior of the exhaust valves themselves above ~4k rpm you are still leaving a lot of 'sound' on the table (IIRC stock behavior above 4k is still only 50% total valve opening). Two current method will allow you to go '100% open': an M-Engineering tune (valve settings are fully customizable), or via the add on Cargraphic controller, FYI.

I’ve got would sport cats with Akra exhaust. Love it. The cold start is quite loud. But sound is fantastic.

Thanks all for the replies.

Both Soul Sport Cats and Akra’s Sport Cat are both 200 cell.

Safe to assume that it would sound exactly the same with Akra Center Muffler + Akra or Soul 200 Cell cats?

What would be the point to spend the extra $$ On Akra sport cats, when Soul PP is the same specs and less expensive? Just to have the name?

Yes, we've done many. High flow is really sporty/aggressive and the competition link pipes make it pretty moded turbo spool sounding.

You can hear that combo at 1:54 here:

We chose to focus on muffler sections given the complexity of emission regulations but still a lot of insight, here's the link for those interested: https://flat6motorsports.com/pages/992exhaustseries

I have done both of these combos. The biggest improvement to sound was stock cats with an Akra catback. It sounded much better than the factory PSE. Volume increase of 20-25% normal conditions but it was a loud cold start. The Soul sport cats with factory PSE gave the better performance but only adds maybe 15% volume of the existing sound when matched with the factory exhaust.

if you are looking to change the sound you need the catback. If you are happy with the factory exhaust sound but want a minor bump in volume and value the added performance then go with the cats and factory PSE. Or just go big and do cats and catback.
