C4 vs C4S Ride
Assuming both models have 20/21" wheels, will I notice a difference in ride quality between the two? My dealer has a changeable allocation for C4S. I had planned on ordering a C4.

The C4S has the option of PASM Sport, the base C4 does not.
The C4S has the option of a manual, the base does not.
With the same wheels, and same suspension, they should ride the same. Of course the S is going to be faster.

I guess that was my question. Are the suspensions the same?

I researched this issue prior and yes, both cars come with the same "stock" suspension so if equipped with same wheels (you'd have to go bigger on C4 to do this) the suspension response (thus ride experience) would be the same.
As noted, the C4 cannot be optioned with the SPASM package which lowers the suspension on the S thus resulting in a firmer ride which would be additionally perceptable on various road surfaces.
I have 2 deposits down for 2022 (no firm allocation commitment) but constantly see-saw on 4 vs 4S largely due to internal power debate in my head. For me if I do go with 4S, I will not be getting SPASM out of fear of a harsher ride where I drive.

I had that concern but added SPASM after test driving a 2020 C4S with SPASM. I drove it for about 30-40 min on a variety of roads in both the Sport and Normal modes. Now my allocation/order is a C2S (manual), so for me it was not which trim, but whether to add the option. I had previously driven a 992 C2 without SPASM.

Are the ride quality and handling much different on the 19/20 vs the 20/21 wheel/tire configurations?

For this reason, a lot of people run 1" smaller for winter tires, because those tires will also equate to better grip and control.
The smaller wheel size is often accompanied by a narrower tire too, but not always.

The 19/20 wheels are the same widths as the 20/21 wheels, but the tire sizes are slightly different.
19"/20" Carrera wheels
Front: 8.5J x 19 wheels with 235/40 ZR 19 tires
Rear: 11.5J x 20 wheels with 295/35 ZR 20 tires
20/21

A smaller wheel means a larger sidewall on the tire and a softer/more comfortable ride. 19/20 will be a better ride quality than the 20/21.

The comfort difference between 19/20 and 20/21 wheels is often overstated.
I have both sets for my 992 Carrera 4S and have driven the car more than 16k miles. With thousands of miles on each of the wheel sets (40/60 split between the two), I don't notice any difference in ride quality. Whether you're talking 19/20 or 20/21, these are super low profile tires -- that's reality, ie you're not getting much in terms of rim protection or a more substantial sidewall. The greatest benefit of the 19/20 sets for winter is that they're significantly cheaper than the 20/21 wheel sets.
