Are the 18 way seats on the 992 wider than the 991?
I had a chance to sit in the 14 way seat at my local dealer. They seemed relatively comfortable but I wanted to compare them to the 18 ways. The only car they has with 18 ways was a 991.1 GT3. When I sat in those I found that the side bolsters on the bottom of the seat felt tight. I have read comments saying that the 992 18 way was more comfortable than the 991. I’m just wondering if the area between the bolsters is wider on the 992 18 way.

The bolsters on the 18 ways are adjustable. Did you try to adjust them?

I did a test drive a couple years ago at my dealer, and as luck would have it, I got to drive a 991.2S and a 9924S back to back. Both had 18-ways. I found the 992 more comfortable in general, but I don't recall that the 992's felt wider.

I have a 992 with 14 ways and a 991 Turbo S with 18 ways. With the 18 way bolsters adjusted to their outer limit, the 992 14 way is definitely wider and more comfortable but I have not sat in a 992 with 18ways.
Without a doubt though the 992 14 ways may be the most comfortable late 911 seat I've been in. I've owned 28 Porsches so far so my posterior is experienced.

I just received my C2S with 14 way seats.I'm 5' 9" 160 lbs. I find the seat to be pretty wide. I don't really feel the bolsters snugging me in. My Raptor has a snugger seat! Totally fine for what I will be doing 99% of the time, but if I were to be tracking or autocross, I would have preferred the 18 way seats. I honestly didn't really think about it too much when I spec'd it.

Appreciate your insight.I come from BMW sports seats and found them all excellent. For my 992 build I am planning on the 14th way Sport Seats (waiving on Sports Plus). I am 5'10and 165lbs. Do you believe from your experience that there is no need to "upgrade" to the 18th way for comfort? - I find them very large honestly.

I personally found the 14 and 18 way in the 991 too narrow for me. Part of the reason I sold my 991. They are wider in the 992 and much more comfortable for me personally...especially in the lower back area.

The 992 seats are better than the 991 versions but the 14 and 18 ways are not identical so best to sit in both (if not at the dealer, try to meet with a local Porsche enthusiast). The "better" bolstering of the 18 way fits me better and feels more special due being held in place and sitting IN them (versus ON them). Although some say the 14 ways seat back is wider, I feel less confined in the upper back and shoulder area in the 18 ways ... I have an athletic build and am 5'9"/ 165 lbs.

The car will be my daily driver (Targa 4S) and will be doing some spirited driving, but the car will see very little, if any, track time.

Well, that good to hear. I don't think I have sat in the 18 way seats on the 992. Nevertheless, I have always found Porsche seats to be great!

I sat in the 14 way in the 992 and the 18 way in a 991.1 GT3. I didn't love the 18 way seats from the GT3, but it's not a 992 so I can't really make an accurate comparison.
