Foxwell finally acknowledged that NT530 will not reset service reminder. They did say that around June the NT710 will be programmed to reset the reminder. We'll see.

*** question… what scanner works well with 2016 MY 718 Boxster. I intend to change oil and reset the warning message, as well as review/clear diagnostic codes.

I have owned a Durametric, Foxwell and Autel. I much preferred the Durametric for my 991.1 and my 2016 Cayman 981. A 2016 Boxster was a 981 also. The current 718 started production (for the second time) in MY 2017.

Maybe you should post this in the 718 Forum?

@Fullyield thanks for the details.
Actually ,my Boxster is 982321 / 2017 model, just registered in 2016. Would both 981 & 982 have good coverage?

My needs...
Scan and reset oil and service intervals on 992
Cover 992 and other earlier year non-P vehicles. (Broadly, but Acura and Audi are my primary other interests)

What scan tool specific model can do this, for up to $500 ? (Autel lists 12 different models with "808" in the name!)

I looked at Launch and Autel websites.... way too confusing to tell which models can do what I stated above. Need help! THx.

This has been covered MILLIONS of times. PLEASE folks, take the time and peruse the various forums.

For multiple models (Audi doesn't use the same data structures as Porsche - see VAG-COM, nor does Acura) your only real choice is Launch. Not sure about $500 but you may find a used one for that price; check what model Porsche it covers.

Here you go but remember that the source of this article makes a profit by selling them:

https://blog.fcpeuro.com/autel-mx808...&_kx=mNPZtPfGD

And to Siberian's point, there is an entire thread in this forum on the Autel 808 if you search it. No one is going to do your research for you, and I could be wrong, but your odds of finding an Autel 808 owner that owns a 992, an Acura and an Audi are probably remote. Best wishes with your research.

i bought the MaxiCom MK808s after changing oil on 992 and it worked to reset oil service indicator. From Amazon at $479 back in January 2023

As discussed in the related thread on this topic, these were on an Autel Black Friday sale last November for $379 which is when several of us purchased it. I have no idea whether sale will repeat again this year.

Has anybody tested Autel Maxi AP200 with a 992?

According to Autel website it has almost the same features as MX808 , just running on your Mobile

Yes I tested this, and unfortunately no, I learned the hard way that the AP200 only supports up to the 991.
If I was a little smarter I would have checked Autel's Vehicle Coverage website prior to using my 1 free AP200 vehicle download for Porsche. That site allows you to select a diagnostic tool and look up the various supported functions for each model... AP200 has no support for the 992.
Most likely will purchase an MX808 (or similar) when I'm due for an oil change next year, or keep my fingers crossed that Autel adds this support in an update to the Porsche software for the AP200 (seems unlikely to me).
Thanks to the others who have looked into other options.
