Depends on where you are.

In the United States, it’s every 10k miles or one year, whichever comes first. Oil change is every 10k miles/annual. Inspection service is every 20k/ biannual. First oil change service in the US is free. Second service varies pretty wildly in price depending upon your dealer/region. Mine was $1200.

In the UK, it’s every 20k miles or two years, which ever comes first. Yes, Porsche is totally fine with you putting 20k miles on that oil.

The service recommendations vary by country.

And don't forget on a new 992 in the USA the first year of maintenance is covered.

Not worth driving 700 miles for that nor even sure they'll honor it given their track record with the wife's Macan.

But we can hope there'll be a new management in a year...

What did they do for that $1200? I can’t imagine what would possibly be required at the 2 year interval other than an oil change and perhaps a brake fluid change (totally unnecessary IMHO unless perhaps if the car has been tracked).

So $1200 for an oil change and brake line flush?

8 quarts @ $10 each = $80
oil filter.. say $25
Brake fluid… say $25

Say $120 in parts leaving $1000 for labor. Changing the oil and brake fluid couldn’t possibly take more than 2 hours so I guess their labor rate is $500/hour.

Other than an oil change nothing is really mentioned for 20k as per the examples below:

https://www.porscheirvine.com/servic...e-schedule.htm

Can't imagine what they did for $1,200... oh well

Exactly.

Oil change once/ year
Brake fluid change every 4 years (Porsche says 2, which I think is absurd)
Air filters probably every 4 years depending on mileage. They are pretty accessible, so you could pop them out for inspection and reuse if still clean. But they are pretty inexpensive so you may as well just replace them.
Cabin filters probably every 4 unless you live in/drive in a dusty area
Spark plugs every 4-6 (just so they don’t get stuck via corrosion - few plugs will ever be “worn out” in that time.)
Probably a serpentine belt replacement after about 6 years 60k miles.
Brakes as needed. Mine typically last 75-100k miles.

That’s all I can think of. There really isn’t much on modern cars.

I really think that Porsche charges crazy amounts for service because customers like being able to brag about how expensive it it to maintain their exotic cars. It would be insulting to have to say that you only spent what Honda owners spent.

What is included in the 20k biannual inspection and how much do they charge for that?

How about tune ups(spark plugs, timing belt, etc.....?

The best expense you can spend is for a good analyzer and avoid the dealers at all costs unless it's an electronic, recall and/or flash issue. Check for indie mechanics in your environs

I just had a second "Minor Maintenance" done at the dealer with the car at 1 year/2 months and 23,000km. Effectively, it's an oil change and a bunch of checks, although this time had the cabin filter replaced as it's been doing overtime duty with the 4 months of wildfire smoke it's been handling. I have a Autel MS906BT incoming for a new "family" business we're starting (11-bay DIY garage) that does coding and resets, so going forward will only be visiting the dealer for major services.
