New 992 Carrera S owner...
Over the last ten years I have been through the full line up of water cooled 911 ownership,
MY02 996 C4S MT, bought in Jan 2013 - my first 911 - and car altogether - never needed one before, and loved it...
MY09 997.2 C4S PDK, bought in Mar 2017 - Loved it
MY13 991.1 Turbo S PDK, bought in April 2020 - was not for me. Didn't like it so had it only for 7 months
MY18 991.2 GTS PDK, bought in Nov 2020
and have now "ended" up with a MY20 992 Carrera S PDK.
It took some deliberation moving from my (now traded in) MY18 991.2 GTS to the 992 but when I first got to see it there was no doubt in my mind this is what I wanted and I'm not regretting the sligthes.
Factors that played quite a part for me:
1) I got more or less the same for my 991.2 GTS than what I paid for it (bought from OPC and traded in with an OPC) and had to pay less than I had set aside for the 992 - As with all my past 911's I have bought the cars with my heart and not head, so this was a bonus really... :-)
2) The 992 had exactly the convenience extras I wanted in a 992, and it was also low milage vehicle (6'000 miles) owned by Porsche since new.
Carrera White Metallic, full black leather interior, PSE, SC, Bose, 18 way seats etc etc...
I had the black stone chip guards added before delivery as I did with the 991.2 GTS I had...

I like the black stone chip guard on white 992’s….looks sharp.
Enjoy your new ride.

Looks great! I love the CWM with those black stone guards. I haven't seen many people talking about it on here, but get the rear gloss black deck lid PPF'd. I had to have mine polished and PPF'd after 1 wash and 400 miles. It scratches really easy and shows up in direct sunlight. Xpel makes a template for it. Enjoy!

Just curious, but what didn’t you like about the 991.1 Turbo S? Or, put another way, why do you prefer your 991.2 GTS and 992 CS over the 991.1 TTS?
You mentioned “convenience extras” as part of what you prefer about you 992, but regarding driving dynamics is there anything you prefer in your 992 over the 991.2 GTS?
A 991.1 TTS is one of the cars I’ve been considering for my next Porsche purchase.

Nothing wrong with the 991.1 Turbo S per say - it just wasn’t for me. Maybe it was too much power and torque for my liking and my better half didn’t like it either (so may have had an additional effect on me not liking it). Difficult to put a finger on it speciffically tbh (not that it’s of any help) but again I never fell in love with it…

I really like the definition and useability of the black stone guards on a white car. Looks great CONGRATS!

Thanks for this, I was wondering what was happening back there (first time owner). On my 911 it almost looks like water spots mixed with orange peel. I am about 100 yards from an Xpel installer, I will get that done asap.
