Default Sport mode hesitation

I was searching but could not find an answer yet. I have a base and when cruising at low rpm in sport mode the car seems to not run entirely smooth and “wobble/hesitate” a little. It’s not terrible but In comfort made it’s not there and is entirely smooth. Once I push a little higher in RPM it goes away. No other vibration or issues I can tell. Just feels a little weird and I try to avoid that low RPM range now when cruising and when in sport mode Anybody else observed something like that? I had a tech driving it and he did not think it’s anything unusual but I don’t have other 992’s to compare it with.

Do you have porsche sports exhaust fitted?

If so I'd suspect that when in Sport mode you are opening the exhaust valves and changing the resonance frequency of the exhaust. It's called drone and occurs with many exhaust systems both OEM and aftermarket and is related to a specific RPM hence why it goes away as the RPMs climb.

For example R35 GTRs with decatted midpipes were notorious for it at around 800-1000rpm.

Yes, I have sport exhaust and chrono. But it’s not drone. It’s like a soft shaking of the car, I call it wobbling. But it’s not tire balance as it only happens in sport mode. Same RPM in other modes it’s smooth.

Drone is the word used to describe the sound produced by resonance, but vibration is the other main constituent.

Obvs only guessing here given it's impossible on a forum to provide a first hand experience of it.

yeah, hard to describe but just wonder if others experience anything similar or not. Just a slight shaking, wobbling like driving over uneven cobblestone roads

Th efull range from 800-2800 or a specific band of RPM?

Only that I'd nip out tomorrow and see if I can feel any changes to NVH over that range

Well, thanks for trying. I don’t drive much below 2000 but can also feel it when slowly accelerating from stand still and once ROM go higher it goes away.

"Base" here as well and no, never experienced that in either engine rpm variance or exhaust sound variance.

At same rpm in different modes suggest it may also be in different gears. Pay attention to gearing and report back

Might need a pdk clutch adjustment - if it's easily reproducible, best to let the dealer's tech take a drive.

Does not appear be at same RPM or it is much less in normal mode that I can't recognize it.

Will take it to dealer later this week and have them check it out. Problem is always to demonstrate it as it is not horrible, but slight shake/wobble.

^ Honestly, don't waste your time going to the dealer. They're going to tell you that nothing is abnormal (and nothing is, my car did that too). Just enjoy the car

Thanks, so I am not the only one...good to know. How would you describe it from your experience?
