Dakar front brakes are definitely different from GTS as they are smaller discs to fit into 19" rims. Officially they are presented as Carrera S brakes but I suspect they may be of the same size but different material with either the discs or the pads more robust to widstand the offroad use and a lot of dirt potentially getting on the friction surface, but this is just speculation on my side as the feeling is apparently different even at moderate brake application.
Maybe some other owners have a different opinion or can compare with regular Carrera S brakes.

Default Special order car in CH

Very nice special order car at Porsche Zentrum Zug

It has gold lettering for the model designation and tartan seat inserts... Sold ...

Also the rollcage is painted green and not the standard black.

Default Dakar

Dakar has arrived for a couple of weeks now. Glad I did not opt for the livery. Solid color attracts enough attention as it is. Took the stuff off the cargo carrier but kept the hardware on for now. Looks cool. Have had maybe a couple of hundred miles with it but not in snow or off road yet. First observation: I no longer have to use my paved driveway to enter the garage! Like any 992 it’s not as snug and compact feeling as 991 and larger bottoms are well accommodated. It’s a louder car inside than I thought it would be. Not annoying loud and expected for any 911 really. I haven’t pushed it hard but could see why the brakes might feel a bit slower at higher speed. Very good braking overall. The car is definitely more steady on less than ideal roads and roughnesses are not felt, potholes and shoulders and small dirt roads are a breeze, the magical chassis and those tires absorb those really well. The car seems more playful and has a slight tendency for oversteer. Looking forward to more seat time.

In between the rain storms, got down to the wharf for a quick drive and pics. Took off the duffle bag for this maiden voyage.

One more review from Harry's Garage ...

He liked the car and pointed out the fact that the bucket seats are a little silly for a car that would be a perfect daily driver.

Default Unexpected gift from Porsche

I was at my Porsche Zentrum today for a problem with my three months old Cayenne ... and I received an unexpected gift: a Dakar watch with number matching my car ...

Impressive on Porsche part to gift the watch of no trivial value ...

I was really surprised!

The one at Rocklin Porsche is definitely a nice spec but the ADM of course is HIIIIGH - did the math and it would be about 35-40K more than the high spec'd TTS I have a slot for in April/May. So 35-40K more for Dakar now, or wait for TTS that would deliver in Aug/Sept and save some $ (TTS def doesn't excite me as much)

I sold my 2021 TTS Cab last year. A month or two ago I started shopping for a Dakar and took delivery of one just recently. I have not put many miles on it but so far I like it way more than the TTS Cab. The power is still great. The brakes are excellent. Steering incredibly responsive. The tires and higher ride height are the big plus. You glide over nny roughness in the road. I took it on a very bumpy undulating road going about 95 mph and it was a dream. At soime point, I think very soon, all the Dakars will be spoken for, ADM or not.

Spotted this last September, before I even knew what a Dakar was...

Same here. I had my 992 TTS for about 8k miles and sold it now replaced with Dakar. Quite happy with the change. Dakar is more forgiving on most roads and encourages you to drive. The TTS mostly encouraged me to speed. Both are fun and I am good with the new ride.

Quite the surprise. Nice.
Am still waiting for mine. What is the second bracelet made of? Nylon? Rubber?

Yes quite a nice surprise. It was "suggested" to me that I buy a watch since I was getting the car at MSRP. Good relationship with the dealer so I obliged.

My watch came with 2 leather straps of different lengths; both straps marked "Genuine Porsche Car Leather".

Like @brownan it was "suggested" that I buy the watch as part of the process. I also have good relationship with the dealer and I also like watches.
