Need advice on dealer discounts
Guys-
I haven't purchased a new Porsche since 2019, and I am wondering how the game has changed since before the pandemic, supply chain issues, etc. I am thinking about getting a base Carrera or an S, and want to spec it out myself. I have a good relationship with my dealer and have bought all of the cars in my sig below from this dealer except for the 993S and the '87 Carrera. I'm wondering what kind of discounts you have received on purchases within the last year.
Thanks.

MSRP is about as good as you're going to get. Last year, if you had a compelling trade, like another 911, it was possible to get a car slightly below MSRP. Though, that's really the dealer playing numbers games with trade-in value, ie moving money from one column to another.
Direct ADM (additional dealer mark-up) or market adjusted prices are still very common. There's also a lot of backdoor ADM going on out there where a dealer will sell you the car for MSRP. In those cases, they insist on everything from financing through the dealer to being forced to by a Porsche Design watch. There are folks who claim that they got the car at MSRP, but were forced to get PPF, etc through the dealer -- that's still ADM.

To put it quite simply, don't expect ANY discounts as you won't find any. MSRP is the best you'll do these days. If you can find MSRP without forced add-ons that's the best you'll find.

I am one of the lucky few who got a 23 for a $5900 discount off MSRP!!!!!!
(Actually I ordered a 22 in July at MSRP and production of 22s stopped a little earlier than anticipated so I was pushed to a 23 and was price protected at the 22 price).
If you get a car at MSRP and don't have a desirable trade you will languish on the "list" and be constantly bumped by ADM buyers or those with a trade. A deposit will not help this situation.

Get an allocation first. Then worry about pricing.
Can’t ask for menu recommendations if you don’t even have reservations yet.

If you have an allocation in hand, i.e., a V700 status with your name on it and not just V070 or a commission number?
If so let us know what the dealer is asking for that confirmed allocation and what general market you are in (coast, flyover country, south, etc) and we can all help you gauge what a fair price, with or without ADM, might be.
