When I ordered my winter kit from the dealer I wanted the N-spec PA5 due to all the excellent reviews it gathered, but sadly they were out of stock everywhere at the time, so I had to settle for the N-spec Goodyear Ultra Performance Gen 1. I am now starting my third winter with them and I honestly have nothing to complain about. I cannot do a direct comparison with the PA5, but I can say the Ultra grip are very good winter tires for my use case, which goes from cold dry roads, sleet and slush to ample snow.

I have about 300 miles on the GY's and overall, pretty happy with dry performance for a winter tire although it's been unseasonably warm in Chicagoland the past couple of weeks.

Will know more next week on performance with colder temps.

It's a winter tire so there is some "mushiness" to the feel, but nothing any worse than I have experienced with Conti Wintercontact 810S or the Michelin Alpins I have had in the past.

Really cold wet/snow/ice performance pending however.

I’m Chicago as well, mounting P Zero Winters on the GT3 next Monday, we’ll see how it performs—happy to share here as well.

First snow driving in the Goodyear Ultra Grips.

Not a ton of snow, but enough that it’s slick out.

No complaints.

Well...winter definitely hit Chicagoland this weekend. -9 this am for a drive in the 911! The GY Ultragrip winters performed well on a combination of well salted roads, poorly salted ice/snowy side roads for about 70 miles over this past weekend. Even in -9 degree weather the tires gripped well and no squishy feeling while turning and overall comfortable ride. I didn't do any aggressive driving as the conditions are ridiculous, but overall very happy with the GY winters.
